I was pleasantly surprised. Most places rob you when it comes to payment for portion size. Not newport lobster shack! I wanted to wait for a lobster roll until later in the season but the wife had other plans and we stumbled upon the shack. It was still cold to me so unfortunately we were not able to sit outside. The area was clean, staff was happy to be there, and food was good.Go there and stop reading my review.

Sorry. I wanted to love it. It's fun to see the working docks and eat shellfish straight on the water. But the bread was really plain and kind of detracts from the fish instead of complementing it, and I think you always need a healthy dripping of butter with lobster. You do get a pretty decent amount of lobster though of course you pay for it - though I wouldn't day you overpay; it's what you'd expect. It's fine. The people are super nice. I don't think I would go back.

Go where the locals go. Seafood right off the boat. We have been coming here for years. It's down on the wharf by the ship yard. The shack makes great food. You can't go wrong whether you go for a lobster roll or bring live lobsters home. It's the right choice.
