Great drinks and service from Nick, the bartender. He was very welcoming and had great recommendations. The pirate stew was outstanding as was the meatball and shaved Brussel sprouts salad. We will definitely be back.

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I wish we had never stepped foot in Parlor Bar and Kitchen. For your own safety and health I urge you to reconsider this establishment. This was our experience there…
Last Tuesday (Nov. 11th) my partner of 26 years and I got married. We decided for our honeymoon to fly across the country and splurge on a romantic weekend in Newport. We were so excited when we arrived on Friday (Nov. 14th). We were also glad that we were coming during the Newport Restaurant Week. We chose Parlor as our first dinner in town. We arrived for our reservation on time, and were seated promptly. We both ordered the NRW prix-fixe menu. We both had primarily the same thing, but we had different 2nd courses. He had the meatball on toast and I had lumpia. We did not drink any alcohol, because we wanted to be ready for adventure the next day. It seemed an enjoyable meal, if not too much food. The service was standard. We returned to our B&B and started planning out the things we were going to do tomorrow. We had a whole day of fun planned, so we started a movie. A little ways into it, he mentioned he wasn’t feeling too great and then shortly after that he jumped up, exclaimed he was going to throw up and ran for the bathroom. He puked violently for quite a while, and a few other sessions that night. I did not get sick. The next morning he tried to rebound, but even the smell of food caused nausea and more vomiting. Even water came right back out. It was clear, he couldn’t do activities that day. He just wanted to be in bed and close to the toilet. He cried, I cried, and then I went and did all the things we had planned to do that day - by myself. I have to tell you, it broke my heart a little. When I returned at lunch, he was even worse. He had thrown up so much he was now just dry heaving and extremely nauseated. He had cold sweats, and you could tell he was dehydrated. I went to a house tour at 4:00, then I picked up some pedialite afterward and headed back to the B&B. When I arrived, he told me he had called Parlor and talked to the manager and she didn’t know what to do, and said the owner would call him. He is still waiting for that call. Around 6:00 that night he asked me to take him to the hospital. He spent the next 6 hours in the ER. Not waiting, but being treated. He was actually being seen and taken care of before I came from parking the car. I hope I can write a review for them, very nice hospital. It took 2 different nausea meds just to stabilize him. The next morning he ate half a piece of toast and that started another cycle. Fortunately, we had a soaking tub in our $400/nt suite because that’s where he spent most of his time, trying to regulate his temperature. AND the tub was right next to to toilet room, so it was a quick commute. He tried to do the Breakers and Marble House, but he was so weak I just took him back and put him in bed. On Monday, we had to travel from Boston to Seattle then literally run to our regional connection with him still sick. The dream of getting home, the only thing pushing him on it felt like. Tomorrow he going to see his regular Dr. He is still sick. This was our honeymoon experience in Newport, provided by Parlor. And we paid them $100+ tip for it. Oh, I forgot to mention… the morning after the dinner, I got an email from OpenTable saying we didn’t show up for our reservation. I never had that happen before, so I I thought it worth a comment.

Cozy chairs, cute street, incredible food. :) Newport felt like an overcrowded irritation, but this spot felt like a hidden oasis in the midst of all the tourist chaos. I would go here, hands down, just for the icecream.. WHITE BALSAMIC CARAMEL SAUCE OVER HOME
MADE PUMPKIN ICECREAM OMGGGGG

Stopped by here for some food during my travels in RI. The place looked inviting and caught my eye as I drove by so the decision to eat here later that day was made then.
Between the cozy aesthetics and the warm lighting I was already in love with this place the second I walked in.
Now lets talk food, I had the chicken prosciutto parm and whatever they did to the pasta(not red sauce) was out of this world!
Finally, lets talk about this icecream on the dessert menu with white balsamic and caramel. Not a combination I had thought of before but after having it here I am left craving it

Our Friday night experience was fantastic. Our group of four attended on the first night of restaurant week and enjoyed some new dishes, with some of us choosing the special menu for the week, which included three courses. We savored dishes like the warm carrot salad, lumpia, gobi, pumpkin and squash risotto. Everything was delicious. No notes!

Service was overall really disappointing. We waited over 15 minutes for coffee and finally had to ask. asked for salt and pepper never got it. Had to ask for a check and waitress never came to check to see how we were doing. Very underwhelmed.

As always the Palor delivered I had the coconut curry mussels (I added French fries yummm) my husband had the steak frites always a winner! Our friends had the crispy chicken sandwich (not a bite left) and a seasonal salad with steak. The drinks were well made and quick to be refilled after a long day. Service was cheerful and prompt! Get the naan with whipped feta so good! Thank you team! Great price and as a local I feel welcomed!
