Was hesitant to try Mexican food in Newport but this looked a bit upscale and didn’t disappoint. Unique take on some dishes with a local twist. Clearly fresh ingredients. Chips and salsa and guacamole were a huge portion and delicious. Margaritas were super tasty and came in many flavors. Went with the duck tacos which were stellar but could have used a third taco for that price. Server was great, she was patient and helpful. Would recommend to anyone and it’s obviously popular being so busy on a Tuesday night in late October.
I’d say the only downside is the 1% addition to your bill for kitchen staff. I get the message and purpose but why not just pay your staff more rather than forcing your customers to subsidize your payroll?

What a fantastic little find! If I lived in this town I would eat here all the time. As a tourist guest, we wished we lived here!
I wanted this to be better then it was. Drinks great...fried avocado great but the meals just didn't hit .

Dirty kitchen, walls, floors. The table had rice from the previous diner. Had to request clean menus as they were stuck together with food residue. The door to the basement area was open, exposing an additional area in need of cleaning.

It's been sometime since we were here but this was very disappointing. The food was mediocre, we could have been at Taco Bell, except the ribs were tasty. The guacamole is better at Chipotle. The atmosphere was fair but watch your step for the ups & downs. The menus were dirty and wet with food. The table was not clean either. The kitchen was open but it did not look like the best organized or clean restaurant kitchen I've seen. Our server was about the best of the experience. It has lost it's upscale quality. Disappointing.

Pros: Cute atmosphere; tasty food; adequate service. I ordered the rice bowl with chicken and veggies and it was plentiful and really delicious. My dining companions thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. Cons: My husband ordered fajitas. Fajitas do not come with sour cream. You have to order it separately and they charge you extra for it !!? Seriously?? Everybody assumes fajitas come with sour cream. But you don’t know you’re not getting sour cream until they bring the order to the table. So he called the server over to ask for sour cream, and he finally got it 15 minutes later when he was 90% finished eating. We did have a reservation for a table for 4 and were seated right in a doorway, so that anybody trying to go through to get to the patio had to squeeze by the back of my chair, inevitably bumping into me all night. This was a lot of people including the servers who had to get to the diners on the patio, squeezing by me hovering trays of food and drinks over my head all night. One last thing: They will not do separate checks. So if you’re not prepared to split the check you better remember to bring your calculator. Overall, I would eat here again because the food was really delicious and it’s adorable. Hopefully I would get a better table.
Parking: There is no parking lot so you’re on your own. We found a free lot a couple of blocks away.

Everything made fresh! Excellent cocktails and food at affordable prices. I tried the shishito empanadas, duck tacos, and enchiladas. Highly recommend them all! Our server provided great service, as well.
