Hidden Gem! The staff works hard to get it right and it shows the minute you open the door! I highly recommend it.

Food: very delicious. Their pastries are delicious. We walked 15 minutes to get croissants and ended up getting bunch of other pastries. Service: this is a small place. You order at the counter and take your stuff. If you order coffee etc, they quickly bring it to your table. Value: prices are OK. They are a tad on the high side but croissants are really, really good. The place is really cute and I would highly recommend it.

The chicken salad sandwich was the best I’ve ever had. The owners are also very kind!

Went around 3:30 when it was completely empty. The pastry and sandwich was absolutely delicious and the historic building the cafe was in was beautiful. Their hours are excellent when a lot of other cafes are closed. Highly recommend to anyone needing a meal. Parking wasn’t a struggle- but it was a weekday in the off-season so I imagine it’s more difficult to park around here in the summer.

Ohhhh what a quaint and deliciously tasty cafe. We stayed across the street for an overnight and had to visit Picnic 2x in less than 24 hours. It’s THAT good! IRS a small shop but you can dine in at the few tables they have. We got roped in with their fresh made lattes and amazing.. AHHHHMAZING pastries! I have such a sweet tooth so pastry hunting is my thing! We got a variety of things and the winners were: almond croissant, chocolate croissant, cinnamon swirl, on cookie, custard fruit tart… soooo delicious.. the savory picks were good mainly the ham and cheese croissant.. it was a little dry but the mustard helped! Def check out this lovely cafe and enjoy the sweet service and treats!

Picnic reminds me of those small and cozy cafes in Paris. Their menu is extensive and everything is prepared to perfection. Their pastry selection is so amazing, you will have a hard time choosing. This is a must-try if you are visiting Newport or local (I'm lucky enough to live around the corner from this gem) The staff is lovely and attentive. In season there are tables outside to enjoy the street scene.

I’m a carb counting clown and get upset when I waste the few precious treats I allow myself on subpar sweets. This place NEVER lets me down!

My mother and I ordered lobster rolls, and they were absolutely rancid. We both had to immediately spit it out. Scary and dangerous. The wait staff wasn't even apologetic. Reordered an avocado toast which took forever and was very expensive. Won't go back!
