I like everything about this nook in The Velvet Mill. Besides truly great meals, and coffee, the owners are awesome, they created a cozy place to sit and dog/people watch, and easily meet others. My twins and my Sunday morning go to.

Outstanding! Love, love, love Rosemary & Thyme! Mouth-watering sandwiches with inventive combinations of top-notch ingredients, along with excellent customer service. Drool-worthy! Convinced yet? Drop everything and go there right now! Trust me, you won't regret it. This is a can't-miss stop on our annual visit to the area.

Visited the new Stonington Velvet Mill location this morning and it was incredible! So excited to have another amazing restaurant in town. Best breakfast sandwich I have had possibly ever!

No longer open! Would have been nice to mention that on the website, TripAdvisor, google or the store itself. 😤

Best bakery/cafe in Newport, sorry to see them moving to CT. Newport's loss is CTs gain. Owners ran a first class act and will be missed!

Breakfast is arguably the most important meal of the day, and although many places offer a good breakfast, a lot of those I find to be lacking. Rosemary and Thyme cafe and bakery is one of my favorite breakfast books I've found in Newport. It's tucked away out of the flow of the heavy tourist traffic, yet still manages to be busy every day. They offer so many delicious delectables from home baked pastries to amazing sandwiches which change periodically to keep the customers trying new things. Being one of those that come in looking for something and finding an entirely new menu with equally enticing foodies, I have never once been dissatisfied with their modifications. Not only is the food incredible, but they also offer coffee of the hot and cold variety. Multiple roasts from Italian dark to Royal Mayan decaf for those of you who just enjoy the rich blends without the buzz, all the way to nice refreshing iced coffee that still tastes like coffee. And to top it all off, the staff are pleasant and polite, but be warned, if you come later in the morning or afternoon, be prepared for a wait. This place is fantastic and worth waiting a few extra minutes. Enjoy your coffee and croissant or fresh made panini in a comfortable and communal setting, and DO make a stop at this lovely little hole in the wall.

This is the second time that we have tried to come here....first time they turned us away when they still were open for another 30 minutes because they didn't want to seat a new table. This time, it's closed because the owners felt like going to the beach when it was 85 and sunny on a Saturday...

We were visiting Newport and looking for a lunch spot. We drove by and saw the cute bistro and decided to stop. Best decision! Everything we ordered was so good! The salad was huge and so tasty. The sandwiches were unique and delicious. We also got a cookie that was probably the best cookie I've ever had in my life. The service was great, everyone was so friendly which isn't always the case in RI. Overall we had a great experience and will make sure we stop back again on our next visit!

Stopped by for cold drinks recently while out walking. My husband had a frozen coffee drink and I had the frozen chai latte.....so so delicious! I am now addicted. This place has wonderful pastries too. They redid the exterior. Also there are a couple bench seats out front. Their hours on Yelp are wrong so give them a call before heading out. They are OPEN on Sundays!

Parking is the only difficult about this place other than that is a great small local place to grab a bite..staff very friendly and food very good

We wanted something off the wharves in Newport and followed the recs on Yelp to this place. It's one street up from the waterfront tucked into a row of buildings. We arrived at noon on Friday and it was not too busy yet, which was a good thing as it is tiny inside but could squeeze about 20 people inside to eat at shared tables. They also do a brisk take out business. I had a HUGE house salad with chicken which was delicious and my husband had the Hollander panini. Both were delicious. The salad would definitely feed 2. The only reason for the 4 stars is there's no parking, it is awful small inside with a limited restroom. Great food and nice staff.

Off the beaten path, and a very very tiny space, but this local cafe is a must. The lunch items were so so good. Out group had a variety of salads and sandwiches and each one was perfect.

This review is for the cafe hours. I continually want to take out of town visitors here for breakfast. But often by the time we get to Rosemary and Thyme at 1030ish it is closed to "reset the kitchen" until 11am. What the heck does that even mean? It's 1030am ON A WEEKEND. Why have you stopped serving food for 30 min on a weekend and started serving lunch at 11am. When I ask the staff about this, they give me a rude answer, like well we've been up since 5am. Ok?? Super, super annoyed by their weird hours. On another note, I absolutely love the sandwiches and would recommend for food.

The Brie, pear, and prosciutto sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life! I'm still thinking about the crusty baguette, sautéed pears, crisp prosciutto, ample amount of greens, and gooey Brie, all perfectly assembled by one of the cafe's owners. I wish that I lived in the area so that I could try every sandwich on the menu!
