We didn't really think about the fact that the outdoor patio wouldn't be open for the season (late April), so it was definitely a different vibe than we had anticipated... This was more our fault than the restaurant's, but it could be nice to get some heaters and have the outdoor patio open for the “early” season, because the view is the real draw. Because this is a little out of the way and part of a hotel, it was much less busy... which depending on your needs this could be a good or bad thing. We were just having a girls night dinner so it was fine for us to be able to hear our conversation and leave the table for a picture outside. The decor is fun and modern, service was wonderful and we all liked our meals. The clam chowder, goat cheese salad, parm truffle fries were fantastic. Note that because it's a hotel, there are often weddings going on in the rooms adjacent to the restaurant, but the noise wasn't too noticeable and didn't bother us. We would love to come back in warmer weather!

This was my first time here and I must say, this was one of the most beautiful locations in Newport! Not only was the location away from the hustle and bustle of Newport, there was plenty of parking, the menu had a great variety of options, and the staff were very attentive! Needless to say, we will be back and can't wait to see the outdoor area when summer arrives!

Thank you for making my daughter's birthday so special last night! I highly recommend dining here. The service, food and atmosphere is top notch. We will definitely be back when we return to Newport.

I took my grandmother to the Safari Room to celebrate my recent engagement. It was the perfect spot. The food was delicious, our waitress was perfectly attentive, and we were able to hear each other (which can sometimes be a challenge when eating out with my grandmother).

The menu was quite limited, food was good but not great . Admittedly we had high expectations but nothing was above average , the cocktail specials weee poor, one had to be returned, the service was average, but waiter seemed confused the whole night, the desert was bland, the wine pour was about as small as they come, so for the cost ( which we understood ahead of time) we did not receive much value for this dinning experience.

Of course nothing beats the summer views here but still a great option in the winter!! Staff, as always, the friendliest and most attentive in Newport!

We went in January which is the off season and it was still so enjoyable. It was dark so we didn't have a view but the service was great, food was delicious, and the atmosphere of the whole hotel/dining room was fantastic. There were 2 other tables and a few people at the bar, so that could be why the service was so great, but we were able to arrive, eat apps, and dinner in just under an hour. We could've absolutely had stayed longer, we did not feel a push to leave. This does not feel like a hotel restaurant at all.

One of the best restaurants in Newport. We went on a busy Saturday night. We chose to sit at the bar. It was perfect. We had a great view, the atmosphere was very cozy and warm. The bartenders were great. The food was delicious. The best clam chowder. We are looking forward to coming back.

This is a great place to dine. It just needs a few tweeks and it will be perfect. To start with the good, the waitress was excellent, the main course was fabulous and the atmosphere was stunning. The only complaints are that the chowder was luke warm and the beer was flat with no carbonation and no head. The Manhattan was room temp. Soup and chowder should be hot when served, unless it is a type that is meant to be cold. For a $200 meal the drinks should match the level of elegance of the restaurant. I've had better beer at the local pizza joint in my town. The bartender needs to make sure the tanks have adequate carbonation and serving in an appropriate glass will also help with head retention. The Manhattan tasted watered down and as if it were not even poured over ice to chill it. Also, may I suggest luxardo cherries or amarena for the Manhattan. Otherwise the meal was fantastic. Just a few minor adjustments and you've got it!

Went for Brunch with friends. I love the new look! We enjoyed coffees in the lounge area before sitting down for our meal. We had a lovely cheese and charcuterie board with mimosas while waiting for our main dishes. The duck hash was reimagined - a lovely duck leg served over roasted vegetables topped with an over easy egg. My husband had the veggie frittata served with well-seasoned toasted potatoes. Service was friendly and efficient. The wait staff was attentive without being overbearing. We weren’t rushed and could relax & catch up.

We ordered swordfish and requested well done, came out far from well done. Sent it back and it again was not well done (I don’t think they even tried to cook it) only this time they poured a brown gravy over it. Had to be the worst meal my wife and I have had. Emailed restaurant, no response. Plenty of other restaurants in Newport, best to stay away from this one.

Food was amazing. Service was ok but the main memory was the thumping music of the wedding reception or rehearsal in the next room. The safari room was loud as everyone spoke over the thumping music next door. I heard people commenting on the music's volume as well. It wasn't exactly fine dining atmosphere but the food was absolutely fantastic.

My experience wasn’t terrible, just disappointing. It was restaurant week and they had no vegetarian entrees, which was fine, but the alternative was just small plates. So I had fries for lunch… they were good fries though. The $4 lemonade was crystal light. Our server would often disappear for a while, but luckily the other staff would check up on us and help us out. The view was nice, the rest was nothing to write home about.

For Newport Restaurant week & after reviewing the menus from the many participating restaurants, the menu from the Safari Room caught my attention. The menu was innovative to say the least & the two items that jumped out at me was the Duck Confit & the Pistachio olive oil cake two of my favorite dishes. So a friend & I decided to try it. She also read an article about the current Chef, Chef Stefan which she found impressive. First they served a complimentary hot d’ oeureves which was a fish ceviche on a fried wonton which was very good. Nice citrusy, acidic flavor. For my appetizer I chose the scallop crudity & my friend the monkfish scampi, both dishes were very good. Loved how moist the monkfish was, which was beer battered & fried. We both decided on the Duck Confit which was more like a cassoulet. Loved the flavors of the duck, sausage & pork belly & beans in a nice broth. For the dessert you guessed the olive oil cake which was moist & had a nice crème freiche topping on the side. The service & staff were attentive & friendly. Nice that the chef tried to employ culinary students
I will definitely be back to try their regular menu.
