Sat at the bar this evening (4/18), bar tender was more interested in talking to his friends and locals he knows (we are local business owners) instead of being attentive to anyone else at the bar. Our food was not edible. The chicken in the chicken parm was so dry you couldn't swallow it. The mussels were so over cooked the texture was as if they had already been chewed and put back in the shell. The red sauce had zero flavor and in turn the pasta was flavorless. We asked for the check with completely full plates and no concern from the bar tender about why we didn't eat. When he grabbed one of the plates, he asked if we needed anything else and we said the food was not good and inedible. His response was, "oh." Definitely will not send our customers here when they ask where to get food.

Delicious lasagna ! Also had white clams with angel hair pasta , Carlo was our awesome server- very cozy and rustic Italian restaurant, the homemade tiramisu was creamy and scrumptious!

Stopped by while in Newport for the night with my partner. We didn't know it was reservation only, but were lucky enough to be able to sit by the bar for dinner and drinks. The food tasted AMAZING. Somewhat small portions for a decent price, but that's if you wanna be greedy with what you get. So delicious and so fresh! Everything was incredible; we both ordered pasta for reference. Our bartender John was great! It seems like a really nice place for date night or a nice dinner. Would definitely go back!

We went to Sardella's on a Thursday in April when they were offering a limited menu at prices from the year they opened back in the 80s. We had a reservation and were seated right away. I love the ambience of this restaurant. The lighting is dimmed and it's cozy. The place is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside too. To start I ordered a Caesar salad, which was really good! For my entrée, I ordered chicken parm. my husband ordered the mussels and pasta and my son ordered the pizza. We all really liked our meal. The pizza looked really good and my son loved it. For dessert, I ordered the Napoleon, which was really good and really big. This was our second time at Sardella and we will be returning next Thursday since they are having 80s prices all month long on Thursdays !

Came in for a birthday dinner and Sardellas was really good! We all enjoyed our meals and had great service, the server even adjusted the temperature of the room for us because it was so hot. The restaurant was really cute and inviting, especially on a rainy night!

We happened to be in the area. My wife wanted a nice night near a real wood fireplace. We tried to book online reservations but booked all nightWe called and the hostess was awesome and said she could squeeze us in at 8 or they were just opening at 4 pm and if we arrived at opening it would be No problem. We arrived and sat us at our request right by the fireplace. We had the lobster ravioli and chicken parm over angle hair pasta two glasses of wine and a chocolate mousse cheese cake and Teramasu . Our experience with a fantastic waitress Jen C and an authentic Italian meal was amazing. The price was excellent the meal and 25% tip was $132.00We will 100% be backThanks to the staff for a nice romantic night out for my wife and I

During a recent visit to Newport, my husband and I came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try. We were beyond satisfied with what we ordered and will definitely add this restaurant to our evergrowing list of favorite spots. Here's a breakdown of what we ordered: Arancini: Good, but not particularly noteworthy Meatballs: Also good, but seasoned a bit different than your typical meatball, imo.. not sure what it was exactly (nutmeg?) We enjoyed it and also really liked the red sauce that it came with. Garlic Bread: Super garlicky, buttery and toasted nicely. Short Ribs: Excellent. Unbelievably tender and the mashed potatoes were so velvety smooth and buttery. Love, love, love Chicken Piccata: My husband had this dish and really enjoyed it. (I had a small sampling and thought it was delicious. It was seasoned well and had just the right amount of tangy, lemon flavor).

Gem of the neighborhood. Sardella's absolutely crushes all of the Italian-American classics. Their braised short rib dish could stand up in the North End of Boston, and its 3/5ths the price. The bonus aspect is being able to order pizza from the other side of the house, which is cranked out of a legit Neapolitan oven. The bartenders on both sides are lovely folks, who crank out stellar drinks. And this is the type of place that you could come in a hoodie, or rock a sport coat, and you'd fit in just fine, as its a warm and inviting space all around.
