Natasha was absolutely wonderful and worked so hard making our bachelorette celebration so much fun. The igloos are beautiful and surprisingly were plenty warm enough even with last night's 23 degree temperature and 20 mph winds.

After confirming my reservation the evening before with the manager, we arrived on time for our reservation. The restaurant doors remained closed for more than twenty minutes. After opening the doors, the manager told me that we would not be able to have our igloo as they had not been shoveled out (there was ~2 inches of fresh snowfall). As a former restaurant owner in New England, it goes without saying that snow happens in winter. Small amounts of snowfall require staff and management to prepare a little earlier (i.e., make allowances for snow removal and sanding, if necessary when the forecast calls for snow). He was not sure when I would be refunded my payment for the igloo. I did eat inside with my grandchildren and found the food and service to be lacking.

Great place! Cane made us feel very welcome coming into the restaurant and was very accommodating. We enjoyed the whole experience very much. Chuck the bartender made us very comfortable at the bar. Our table in the dining room was very pleasant as well. Brittany took great care of us. David was very good at delivering our food and made sure we had everything we needed. Food was outstanding, perfectly prepared. Highly recommend 1639.

Experience was great. Natasha was very informative and an outstanding waitress. My Ribeye special was fantastic and the butter was truly something i've never tasted before. One thing me and my girlfriend took note of was when the bar outside the restaurant was getting too loud, the staff would close the front door too block out noise. And it doesn't get any better than that. Thank you to the 1639 staff for giving me and my partner a great experience.

Entrees were both raw and overcooked at the same time which feels like the food was first frozen.

Went for a New Years Eve prix fix 5 course meal. Good was really good. They were able to accommodate request to make substitutions for a gluten allergy. Our waitress, Britney, was very friendly, warm and welcoming. Even though it was NYE, there really wasn't much decoration to reflect that. That would have been a nice touch.

NYE table d'hote. Definitely not worth the price, but we figured that was to be expected because it was an NYE event....but, I had asked via email and phone call before reserving if they would be able to accommodate celiac and a shellfish allergy. They assured me they could, but the options were so sad. My daughter ended up eating a gem salad (just lettuce) and a cauliflower "steak." The service was a mess with items missing or late. The tortellini in brodo tasted like they were freezer burnt. The Coquille St.Jacques was 2 small scallops. They were tasty, but the shell was placed on uncooked lentils for garnish, and we had to laugh, thinking lentils would have been some good protein for my daughter's meal (she got the cauliflower). It was a disappointing dinner.

Natasha provided attentive and considerate service. The chef accommodated dietary needs. The music was too loud.

Food and Service at this new restaurant in the Newport Harbor Island Hotel is very good. 3 of us at our table had the Salmon which was cooked perfectly -- skin on the bottom was crispy and meat and sauces were very tasty. The other entry at the table was the rigatoni with vodka sauce which was also very good. We all shared two Caesar Salads -- the romaine was crisp and the dressing yummy. The only real negative to the evening was the exorbitant cost of parking in the resort parking lot. We were there for 2 1/2 hours and the cost was $28.89. That just seems very high. If the resort wasn't on Goat Island, we would have parked elsewhere and walked over but that wasn't possible. I feel the restaurant should be more open about this fee.

Great food, clam chowder was different and all so good. Had duck was prepare and presented well. Our waitress Natasha helped make excellent suggestions. Ambiance nice water views, nice background music, could hear each other, all in all great experience.

Our hostess, Natasha was friendly, attentive and gave us great food and drink recommendations. She was sensitive to our guest with food allergies and checked for each dish what she could eat safely. Special cocktails were unique and delicious. Food was amazing! Thank you for the ambiance, attentiveness and a great meal.

Absolutely terrible. This is the type of expensive restaurant where the chef is no good and tries to cover up his flaws by overdoing everything. First, the clam chowder was ridiculous. It had two clams in it and absolutely no taste of clams - it was really a corn chowder with two clams. Next, we had the halibut, which was floating in a broth with way too much salt. It was inedible. Our lips were throbbing from the salt. The cacio e pepe pasta and the lobster pasta were overcooked and over salted as well. When we told the waitress and manager, all they said was we are sorry we did not meet your expectations. They did not write off the fish even though it was basically untouched. They merely offered one free dessert, but by that time, we were not interested in more bad food. Notably, the restaurant was empty (only 5 tables taken) on a saturday night where Newport was fully booked. Finally, the decor is awful. The restaurant looks like a cafeteria, rather than a fancy restaurant, but the pricing is expensive. There is absolutely no ambiance at all.

Everything about our brunch was lovely, but what made it exceptional was our server. She was one of the best we've ever had. Attentive, kind, and she made us feel special and welcomed.
