I am a long-time admirer of the various ways the Chanler presents à la carte meals. This evening on the tented lawn was, bar none, the most successful. The menu is quite broad, the wine list even broader. And our dishes (marinated shellfish and the roast loin of lam + stuffed chicken strips) were espertly prepared. Our chatty Tiurkish waitress kep everything moving and was a delight. Bravo for the Chanler!
Eating on the terrace overlooking the water with the beautiful landscaping makes you feel like you are in a tropical resort someplace far away. The service is always very good and they make you feel special. The menu is small, and most of the portions are small. The presentation is wonderful and the dishes are truly a culinary delight. We dine there often. Just a couple of specific callouts: the burger is enormous and pretty impressive. The lobster /heirloom tomato salad is overpriced...
High end dining for sure. Impeccable cuisine. Superb service. Amazing view from the outdoor veranda. We rarely will go out to such a fine restaurant, maybe once per year, but this was an incredible treat for us to enjoy on a spectacular weather day in Newport. Not one complaint. Highly recommend. Especially for a special occasion.
