Excellent experience on our honeymoon! Wonderful service, spectacular food, amazing ambiance!
We ate in the garden for breakfast yesterday and we loved it. The garden was beautiful, the weather was perfect and the food was delish. The service was a little slow but overall we enjoyed our breakfast and would recommend coming here.
It was O. K. Food had too much sauce, which overpowered the taste and ex I acted quality. Service was nice but, again, ok. I l I ve this type of decor but everything else was not on the level.
Lovely spot, great food but INCREDIBLY NOISY. Service was good except there wasn't enough wait staff to handle the people there. Dinners did not come out together; we waited 10 min or more for all of them. Plus, the server made a mistake writing the order which caused another delay, this time for 15 min.while the kitchen remade one of the dinners.
My husband ordered the duck and I ordered the pork chop...both were mouth watering delicious!!! Our waiter, Marcello, was delightful and offered the perfect wine pairing to go with my meal! Our food, drinks and evening were fantastic!
While the food was quite good, and the ambience was quite nice, the service was really terrible. Most of the staff was confused and disorganized, with what appeared to be a lack of management and proper training. We were really shocked at the level of poor service at such a top branded luxury property! It was a birthday celebration that was tarnished by this experience. Too bad.
We had a lovely lunch and enjoyed the friendly staff who made it happen! The day was perfect! I felt like I was back in time and enjoying the Gilded Age. We will definitely be back again.
exquisite dining room in beautifully decorated Vanderbilt Hotel. Take advantage of sunset views at the roof top bar. Excellent food and service-
Wonderful experience in terms of ambiance and music. Lovely interiors. Dark and romantic. Food so so. The cheese platter for that price had old wilted grapes, the eggplant in ravioli was undercooked and $9 for bread and butter, come on? But the service and the mood cannot be beat and we ll be back to enjoy another night minus the cheese platter.
Wonderful ambiance and service. We shared the ribeye which was outstanding. The potatoes needed seasoning!

Our service was horrible! One of the meals was extremely undercooked and took forever to return. Way overpriced...will never return!!!!!!
This is a beautiful venue with lots of charm. The Martini man makes great martinis. My wife and I shared a Caesar salad that was delicious. We then shared the baked chicken entrée. Chicken is not an easy dish to cook, and the chef's preparation was extraordinary. The chicken was moist and very well seasoned. Lastly, we had an efficient and extremely pleasant server named Aryana... (i'm sorry if I spelt it wrong). She was very engaging very knowledgeable about the menu and she did a great job for us. I would highly recommend this restaurant
Great service. The menu is a bit limited so best to scout it out before dining. We had the catch of the day and didn't love how it was prepared. Prices were more reasonable than we expected, which was a nice surprise. The dining room is a bit dark and formal but I guess that adds to the ambience if you are going for a more formal dinner. We were slightly surprised at the range of dress....we had expected a requirement on attire given the location and the build up of the place online, however there were people there in shorts and shirts, which doesn't fit the place at all and kind of ruins it for those trying to enjoy a really nice dinner out, dressed in our best.
Spectacular dinner. Every dish was perfectly cooked and seasoned and the service was outstanding. And don't forget the sticky toffee pudding. Highly recommend.
✨ A Magical Evening at The Vanderbilt ✨ We started the night with perfectly crafted cocktails on the rooftop, just in time for sunset — the views set the tone for what turned into an unforgettable dinner. Downstairs, the dining room felt like stepping into a romantic hideaway: cozy ambiance, antique dinner tables, and plush chairs nestled by the fireplace. It's elegant without being stuffy — the kind of place you could linger for hours. The food was nothing short of extraordinary. The foie gras and octopus appetizers were executed flawlessly, each bite balanced and memorable. For mains, the duck with blueberries and corn was a surprising delight — an unexpected combination that worked beautifully. The sea bass, paired with capers, olives, and tomatoes, was light yet full of flavor. And then came dessert: the sticky toffee pudding. Truly to die for — rich, warm, and the perfect sweet ending to a stunning meal. From start to finish, The Vanderbilt delivered on every level — drinks, atmosphere, food, and service. A must for anyone looking for a romantic, elevated dining experience in Newport.
