They enhanced the flavors and enriched the experience.Food was great and filling.Staff was kind and knowledgeable.We sat in a small quiet dining room, although the hotel was beautiful, we would have preferred the larger dining room.I would go back ?

My friends and I came here for brunch back in October and it was lovely. The dining room is very pretty with great views of the property and water. We shared the French onion dip for an appetizer and it was so good, I could've eaten it with a spoon. For my main dish I had the chopped salad with chicken and I've been dreaming about it ever since. The dressing was a ranch vinaigrette and I've been craving it ever since. Everyone who worked here was very attentive and very friendly. I would come back here in a second the next time I'm in Newport.

We had lunch in the small bar (there is a second larger one that was closed). While you don't have the great view of the outside that we love the food and the service were excellent. I have dined here before and we definitely will be back.

This is my second visit this fall. It was a totally amazing experience, which starts as soon you walk in to the beautiful foyer. The staff are so friendly, helpful but not intrusive. They were great with our food allergies (gluten) giving suggestions. Every question was answered with extensive knowledge and some wonderful stories tucked in. The food and pairings were delicious. Highlights would be Heirloom squash & Langoustine & the Antelope.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

My wife and I had a dinner reservation for the Chef's tasting menu. The service, the venue, the bar, and the wine list were excellent. This review is about the food ... which unfortunately violated the cardinal sin of eating out and in our opinion just wasn't that tasty or memorable. The first red flag was in our first course of oysters. While I am sure the oysters were great ... we'll never know. They arrived at room temperature: one with caviar, one with kimchi, and one with pickled bergamot. The flavors of the garnishes completely overwhelmed what I assume was supposed to be the main ingredient in the course. This was a common theme throughout the dinner, feature ingredients obscured or overcomplicated by a (well executed) technical flourish, or paired with an ingredient that seemed unnecessarily extra (seaweed on applesauce?). If you've seen The Menu ... we got those vibes (less murder). The service, venue, and atmosphere were all terrific and what we hoped for. While we might return for an a la carte lunch, next time, we will choose another option for dinner.

We had the six course tasting menu with wine pairing and truffles. The American Wagyu was disappointing but every other course was spectacular including the tortellini and foie gras. Best service I've had all year. Would return.

We enjoyed a fantastic Anniversary dinner, this was a perfect setting and meal for a special night. We enjoyed the 6 course tasting menu plus wine pairing. The food was artfully presented and absolutely delicious. Service was outstanding, staff knowledgeable and friendly. Very pricey, but worth the memory.
Absolutely fabulous!!! The waiters/busboy were some of the most cordial and knowledgeable of the dishes being served that we've ever seen. We have been regulars at CH for 2 years now & cudos to the management and staff.

Made a reservation here for my wedding day to have dinner with my parents and now husband. We had such an amazing experience and were treated so well by the staff. They went out of their way to make our experience unique and memorable. The other diners also added to our experience, I wore my wedding dress and he wore his NAVY dress blues so we attracted plenty of congratulations and well wishes throughout the evening. Everything was lovely and every dish on the menu was exceptional! I definitely recommend this to anyone celebrating a special occasion. They went out of their way to really make our night special.

Everything from being greeted as we walked in to saying goodnight w our picture being taken at the Christmas tree was fabulous. Nick, Tom, Christine and Carter were all very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely recommend and return the next time we are in Newport! Thank you for a memorable evening??merry Christmas..
The tasting menu (with wine pairing for me) was beyond expectation. Each dish was prepared with precision and flavor, with some interesting and somewhat unique wines to pair. The service is expert, informative and gracious/accommodating. The intimate room is perfect for a romantic dinner and enjoyment.

We had lovely time there. It was my milestones birthday and wanted to come back here which we had lunch 16 years ago! Food was exquisite, pairing wine was very unique and enjoyable. The atmosphere was just so elegant yet staff was very friendly. I wish I could see outside ocean view from window but was dark already. Look forward to next visit sometime soon.
