Wally’s Saugies would’ve been more accurate. Not only were the dogs not RI wieners but the fries were also super soggy. The saving grace was the onion rings that were actually good, until we found a hair on one. Four different hot dogs tried and everyone threw theirs out. Cool vibe, it just wasn’t good.

We were pleasantly surprised! This place was fun and the food was delicious. We got dogs, fries and burgers and they all were hot and very tasty. The service was fast and the staff were friendly. If I had to give one negative it would be the stairs to the upper level where we dined. Otherwise, check it out if you are in the area.

Kat is amazing! We had a great time people watching in Newport with our giant mocha espresso martini. The fried pickles are perfectly done with a light fry batter that stays on and delicious wieners! A must stop in Newport!

I imagine it was difficult to replace the historic RI restaurant that existed before Wally’s. They were a classic that traced back to Buddy (if you know, you know). However, I’m really grateful that Wally’s took their place. The food is delicious, AND they kept the same pink-retro atmosphere as the Cantina before. It’s a wonderful place to hang out, have a drink, and a Coney Island dog (or even a burger or chicken sandwich). Listen… I know it’s hot dogs, but this place is awesome - they offer WAY MORE THAN HOT DOGS! Wally’s adds a charm to Federal Hill that’s not your typical Italian fare. If you’re craving that Coney Island hotdog, a burger, or just want to chill out in a place that has a fun, old -time retro feel without spending the usual $100/person, give this (new) gem a visit. It’ll be worth it. Have a great time!
