AMAZING! I had the pleasure of eating twice at Zelda's on Thames in Newport Ri.
The four of us had a clam chowder (excellent) , a stuffed clams (amazing), a pizza and Jamaican Caribbean wings. I'm from NY and not a fan of bad pizza... I had two slices! Love the pizza.
The service was excellent as the bartenders Paul Kaitlyn, Mike are true professionals and on top of their game. Very nice vibe and a great atmosphere.
Since being a Mortgage banking for 42 years, I've eaten at the best restaurants. Before mortgage banking, I worked in a restaurant as a chef and also owned a restaurant. With my background as an Italian Sicilian foodie , I think I know good food.
A clean restroom usually indicates a clean kitchen. They have a clean restroom✔️
It's my neighborhood bar and I make sure I get there early in order to get a seat lol I can't wait to go back. This is an excellent restaurant and I highly recommend them👍🏼

Worth making a reservation for a busy Fri or Sat supper! We dined on Sunday night at 7 pm. No problem getting in, but we did make a reservation! Kind, courteous, professional team that served us . Food was terrific. NE clam chowder was excellent. Creme brulee for dessert was yummy! This place is one of our regular stops during our summer weekend to Newport!

Few days ago me and my husband stopped by to eat here. Food was delicious, I gave a chance to catch of the day and really enjoyed my stripped bass. Sandwich was also good. Def recommended

Food here is below average. Chowder tasted more like bacon and barely had any seafood taste, no evidence of clams in it. It was oily and the emulsion was broken. Any amateur cook can do a better job. The mussels tasted decent but were slightly overcooked. I thought New Englanders knew better. As for the pizza, it was disgusting in ways I cannot summon words to describe. Overall I would caution anyone who loves food to find another restaurant. This place is for beer drinking only.

Excellent food. The best calamari on the island, hands down. So fresh it was falling apart in my mouth. Unfortunately the service was lacking. Our server was not great. I had to wait at least 10 minutes with an empty glass to order a second drink and it wasn't even that crowded. She wasn't friendly, kinda felt like we bothered her to be even there. Not sure if we'll return.
I was pleasantly surprised by how good this place was - haven't had good food experiences in Newport until now. Wings are definitely the best I've had in town, service was excellent, and the entrees were pretty good. I will definitely be coming back.

Food didn't match the price and atmosphere. Calamari came out over cooked/burnt. Chowder was sour and had absolutely no flavor. Nice place for drinks I guess. Heard the pizza was good but didn't order it since it portrayed itself as a seafood type place. Very disappointed with everything except the drinks
