Nothing fancy here. Just a walk-up restaurant. The shrimp was fine…the clam chowder…expect potato soup. The clam chowder was thin as water, and overloaded with filler potatoes. When we were there multiple patrons walked in, looked around, looked at the menu and then left.

The best, freshest meal we experienced while in the cape area (from California)! The fried scallops and the spicy crab stuffed humongous clam was to die for!! Thank you especially to the warm and generous welcome by LeRoy and Robert--we will be regulars!

We have been going to Flos"s Drive In for more than 40 years, but today was a major disappointment. The two orders of fish and chips were the best meals purchased, but the portions were much smaller than what we've gotten at other places around the state for the same price. The clam cakes did not contain many clams and were mediocre. The biggest disappointment were the two orders of whole belly fried clams, which were more like clam strips because the bellies were tiny and not juicy at all. In summary, we have gotten much less expensive and better fried seafood at a couple of other seasonal clam shacks this summer and will be pretty hesitant to return to Flo's again.

This was highly recommended by many reviews online. However, many of the reviews mentioned that it has gone downhill over the last few years. We chose to take a chance and unfortunately it was nothing special at all. Not only was it expensive but bland to average on taste. The best item we had was the chowder, which is about the only item I would recommend .For any other items I would go someplace else. This is for the Portsmouth drive in location. I can't speak for the other "dine-in" location.
Vegetarian options: Not recommend, even if you only ordered French fries I'm assuming they use the same oil that they fry their fish in.
Dietary restrictions: Kind of limited as it's mostly all fried food so I would not recommend for dietary restrictions.
Parking: Right across from the street from the beach so great location.
Kid-friendliness: Fine for kids as it's outdoor seating or takeout

Slam jam clam cakes in your hand munch it crunch, it cohogs stuffed. can't be missed. Especially when they're kicking with that flavor that has a twist spicy and real nice. Enjoy white chowder and clam cakes. On the coast is better than having breakfast toast gotta make it rhyme. Come in, here, we'll waste your time.

always went to island park Flos growing up, live up the road from it. We would go to the beach and go to flos when got hungry. Very pleasant childhood memory. Every time I'm back up north, I always stop there on my way to my childhood home or just passing through.
Flo drive-in is a staple of Tiverton and Newport. Great selection of fresh seafood and the prices are reasonable. At this location, you sit across from the bay under a tent. A great atmosphere.

Great food. The fried clams, clam cakes and fries are great. Seems impossible but I have been going there for over 60 years. I lived about 100 feet away til my house was destroyed by Hurricane Carol in 1954. I was 6 at the time.
