New look, clean and cozy place. Food was delicious! The bill wasn't expensive either, for the amount of food we ordered.

Our first time there this morning. Egg sandwich on everything bagel, home fries with side of homemade sausage & jelly donut French toast...was delicious! Homemade sausage was slammin' . The orders I saw going to other tables...look sooo good too! They will see us again.

Jax is great. We ordered eggs over medium to well and they were perfect. The omelette with the homemade sausage was fantastic. The food came quickly and the service was the best. Can't wait to go back.

Adorable place with friendly staff. The breakfast menu sounded great, as well as the specials. The berry stuffed French toast was amazing. The croissant sandwich was okay, but nothing out of the ordinary...the bacon was pretty chewy. I was thinking it would automatically be made crispy as I saw that listed on the menu. Maybe my fault for not confirming. We found the home fries to be very salty. I would try again, if I am in the area - could have been an off day.

Although I'm a Portsmouth local and Jax has been an addition to our little town for almost a year now, yesterday was my 1st experience. I was a dedicated fan of the previous establishment, located at the same location and was doubtful that anyone could meet/exceed the deliciousness which Cindy produced. My hesitation was quelled by Jax. It's amazing what a "fresh coat of paint" can do. The various menu offerings are enticing and the descriptive word "crispy" used for several of the items, was on point. The hollandaise was incredible and has been added to my top three list! I was impressed & surprised that the yolks of the poached eggs were cooked perfectly. Love the choice of hot sauce offering on the table. My table maintenance engineer Gianna had a sunny demeanor and welcoming aura. It was clearly evident that she truly enjoys her profession.*My only quibble is the lack of V8 as a juice offering. ?

The menu offered a wide array of breakfast classics, and I couldn’t resist indulging in some of their signature dishes. The home made sausages and the scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of creaminess. What truly set Jax Diner apart, however, was the attention to detail and quality of ingredients. Every dish was prepared with care and precision, resulting in flavors that were rich and satisfying. Whether it was the freshly squeezed orange juice or the homemade biscuits, each component of the meal was crafted with love and expertise. The service at Jax Diner was also exceptional. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure that my dining experience was nothing short of perfect. From the moment I sat down to the moment I left, I felt welcomed and well taken care of.Overall, my breakfast at Jax Diner was a wonderful experience that left me feeling satisfied and content. If you’re in Portsmouth and craving a taste of classic American fare, I highly recommend stopping by Jax Diner for a meal that will leave you smiling from ear to ear.

We have been here three times. Every time has been EXCELLENT. Today we had a Lox Hollandaise, and "Croissantwich" egg sandwich. Home fries are crispy and well seasoned. Each visit we had the (the best) Onion rings as a side. Previously had Cinnamon Crunch French toast. (Unbelievable!). Highly recommend.
