The atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing. Warm with an odd vibe. One of the family owners was gracious in giving the history of the house. He was what made the evening memorable. The low points were regarding service. The server had no idea about menu items , seafood market prices or even dessert options. My guest's request for salt and pepper were not provided. When my guest mentioned it after she had finished eating it was offered to get them for her. Don't we all love salt and pepper for desert?
The inattentive server provided lukewarm food and long waits for any attention regarding drinks. Too bad because the beautifully prepared food would have been worth the pricing had it been served hot.

I wish the owner would contact me. Our experience tells us NEVER GO THERE TO ANYONE THINKING ABOUT GOING THERE. My wife and I have heard such great reviews about this place. Finally we made a reservation for Friday 11/1/24. Nice atmosphere, the live music was fantastic. Our server was so in the weeds that the owner took our drink order and went to make our drinks and served us our drinks meanwhile our server rushed to our table not noticing we didn’t have anything on our table and said” can I help “ when we said we’re waiting for our drinks he said ok I’ll be back. To make it a short story, my steak had so much silver skin that is inedible there was more unchewable on my plate than the steak I ended up putting in the to go box that our server couldn’t tell if I was done when he took my plate. My wife’s Lobster Ravioli was drowned in sauce. Rediculously expensive for what you get. Clearly Hospitality is a word forgotten there.

What an amazing experience! I went to the valley inn for the first time and have heard many good things prior to my visit. So impressed with every aspect of this restaurant, from the historical spooky story of the original house, to the atmosphere and delicious food. The fresh baked bread was warm and crunchy and the pizza was one of the best I ever had. Sauce had great flavor the and ratio of cheese to crust was perfect. Pizza was also not greasy. The owner repeatedly checked on us and was very kind as well. Two important things to note is this restaurant is reservation only and dimly lit so some may have a hard time viewing the menu. If you visit make sure to stop in the bathroom to see a silly surprise.

Very local feel. Especially considering how bougie it gets not far from there. It's literally a house. Nice bar. Good live music set up during dinner. Lobster stuffed filet as the sort of signature dish. And if you're lucky, the owner will come over and tell you about the ghosts in the house.
My favorite go to place on the Island!
A must stop if you're in the area. The food is delicious, the atmosphere perfect and the ghost story of this beautiful inn simply the best. Come for the food and atmosphere, stay for the haunting tales! You won't be disappointed.????

The last two times that I have gone the service was terribly slow. We have been sat and totally forgotten about. After waiting 30 minutes a waitress says that she can't take our order that "the kitchen is too overwhelmed". The place was not full at all. The food is delicious but unfortunately the service is terrible.
