I highly recommend the stuffed avocado and also the goat cheese dish had me still dreaming about it 2 days later. And don't skip the empanadas. The cocktail menu was also top notch with some really nice mocktails, as well.

Went to the Foxes Hill neighborhood in Providence to try out a Morroccan spot, but it ended up being closed. Luckily, right around the corner was Aguardente, which is a Guatamalen & Portuguese tapas restaurant. Love the interior decorations and warm welcoming vibe. We started with quejo de cabra, rellenitos, & the minha caiparinha. Then we had the batatas fritas, empanadas de pollos, polvo grelhado, & almondegas. Everything from the service to all of the dishes being seasoned perfectly and tasted amazing.

We ordered the lamb chops, an avocado dish, octopus, seafood paella, and mussels.
We particularly loved the lamb, mussels, and avocado. The lamb was tender and flavorful, with no gamey taste. The mussels, while a bit too salty and with a strong garlic flavor, were incredibly tender and paired perfectly with the freshly toasted bread, which was soft and warm.
The paella was a bit different from a typical paella—it had a slightly brothy consistency, which wasn’t my favorite. It reminded me more of a risotto. The avocado dish was well-balanced and felt like a great choice overall.
Our server was AMAZING—very friendly and went above and beyond to meet our requests.
The vibe was beautiful and cozy. However, despite having a reservation, the place was so popular that we were seated outside on the patio. It was a bit chilly (although they provided blankets), and the setup was uncomfortable. The table was much too low compared to the chairs, and the table felt cramped for the number of dishes we had. They should really consider improving this by getting higher tables or adjusting the layout.
Overall, it was a decent experience. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a try!
