“OMG!! Their lamb biriyani was so good. We ordered last night on uber eats. We came to providence to attend a conference and we 3 are from Bangladesh so we were looking for some biriyani. And we saw that this restaurant had good rating and we ordered goat, lamb and chicken biriyani. I had the lamb biriyani and it was just so perfect. The price is a bit higher but i was so satisfied with the food. I will definitely recommend other people to try this. 10/10 ?.”

“I recently hosted my sister's baby shower at Maria's Cucina, and it was such an excellent experience! Chris, the owner, scheduled several phone calls with me to ensure we had everything planned to perfection prior to the day, which was especially appreciated as I was planning from out of state. Chris was always kind and professional on our calls, and had great menu recommendations - especially considering our group had unique dietary needs (vegetarian and gluten free). The day of the shower, the staff was also extremely kind, professional, warm, accommodating, and so helpful. The food was delicious (we had an antipast platter and salads to start; our entrees were gluten free carbonara, eggplant parm with pasta, and a chicken parm sandwich with french fries; dessert options were creme brulee (DELICIOUS), tiramisu, lemon cake, and cannolis) , and highly complimented by everyone in attendance. I would host an event here again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much to Chris, and all of the staff!”

“Nice music, nice vibes, & prices are fair. My bag was $47 & I got a pound of head off shrimp, a pound of mussels, & payed an extra $2 for their extra spicy hot sauce which was BOMB! I'm a really big guy & couldn't finish it all. Was a generous portion & good price especially for good sized pieces of shrimp & quality mussels. Had my mouth on fire but I couldn't stop eating because of how flavorful it was! Service was great as well. I drove from cape cod Massachusetts with family to eat here & it was well worth the drive & price!!”

“My husband and I were fortunate enough to have Troop host our wedding in November and it was the best time! Every one of our guests commented that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. Adam and Nikki helped me from the beginning to capture my vision of my perfect wedding day. The staff was on point and the food...A-MAZING! No stuffy country club blah food here! And we had bartenders that rocked!! Never waited for a drink. As the bride...I have to give Nikki a special shout out, she was right there to make sure my husband and I ate and were taken care of. The best was when I was getting into the limo to leave and she handed me a take out bag with pieces of my wedding cake and Troop's delicious chocolate chip cookies. If you haven't had one then your missing out. My guests all left with one to take home. I highly recommend Troop to host your next party. Enjoy!”

“Tiny on the inside but packs a mighty oyster punch. No reservations but there’s a standing bar area you can start ordering drinks and oysters from while you wait. Obviously come for the oysters, but stay for the Bulgarian lamb burger!! Also the kimchi brine oyster shooters. Man those things were delicious (and dangerous!!) Also also pickled fried onions. Get those you won’t regret it.”

“The staff greets everyone in French which is a lovely touch. The coquille st Jacques was exquisite!! The escargot were cooked to perfection and very tender and not too garlicky. The French onion soup must have been amazing because my honey didn't save me any cheese! Unlimited fresh baked bread is dangerous. ? The crepes suzette reminded us of Mario's Dad who's French Canadian and now passed but he used to make them for us; and we were celebrating our anniversary which happens to be on Dad's birthday so it was a nice tribute to him. Definitely make reservations and we parked in the lot between pot au feu and capriccios for $15. Lovely evening!Parking: Paid parking lot around the corner. “We had a great experience at Lim's! The service was fast and friendly, the restaurant was very clean and well maintained. The sushi/sashimi was very fresh and perfectly prepared by true professionals as we sat and watched at the bar. We will definitely be back soon when the sushi craving hits! The apps were also excellent, (fresh, steamed pork dumplings, and cold, tasty seaweed salad) and the hot sake was a pleasant and smooth compliment to our meal. I had the pork katsudon with curry sauce, and it was like nothing I've ever tried but so incredibly good. Drinks were also delicious. Our server was not very attentive and very forgetful, but she was clearly very busy in this packed but tiny restaurant. That won't deter us from returning here, though.Kid-friendliness: There were a few family's dining while we were there with kids of varying ages. I would consider coming back with my kids too.Wheelchair accessibility: A wheelchair would not fit into this small, narrow, and tightly packed restaurant.”

“Our foodies group returned, and once again, we had a mixed bag of results. My dishes, the Shaved Brussels Sprouts & Goat cheese, along with the Sesame Seared Tuna Bowl were wonderful. However, the Grilled Wedge salad along with the Stuffed Pork Chop were inconsistent. The salad was delicious, with a bit too much dressing, but it was not a real lettuce 'wedge'. On top of that, the pork chop was not actually stuffed, as it just had the stuffing along its sides and was very dry. The service was really good.”

“Fabulously located on the river with great outdoor seating, very bike friendly and a great spot for a date!! We tried Besina, the Mexican concept for lunch one day and the Italian concept, Double Zero, for dinner another night. Both had inventive, well executed menus though not a total knockout from either. Would come back to try more from both of these spots, as well as the other businesses in the market hall. Double Zero: We loved the deconstructed raw lasagne - I cannot emphasize how cool this dish is - cultured cashew ricotta, dollops of tomato sauce and pesto, and thinly sliced ribbons of raw zucchini. It's phenomenal and I want to make it at home. Not as great - the chili pizza. It doesn't have enough toppings and was just an oily sheet of dry dough with globs of the same cashew ricotta. Besina: We were pleased to be introduced to Tlayuda, a thin Oaxacan flat bread that they top with jackfruit, loads of cultured cashew crema, herbs, and avocado. My partner was crazy about it but i'm generally not totally convinced by the sweetness of jackfruit and it was a little too wet for my taste. Not as great - the Tacos Dorados. Fried oyster mushrooms were heavy and dense and served with an aioli which contributed to the heavy flavors. Could be remedied with a lighter batter on the mushrooms and more of a salad/pickled veg component and it would be delicious. Updated from previous review on 2024-04-04”

“I read about New Rivers in RI Monthly, and decided to check it out with my husband (he loves bread, and we saw rolls listed). Best choice ever. We had a few drinks at the bar while we waited for our table to open, which were delicious. Once we got seated, we ordered a cheese plate and their famous New River Rolls. The cheese plate was small but curated so well. We could have eaten 3 orders of the rolls.. so worth it. The food was so fresh and flavorful, and genuinely just awesome to eat. Service was wonderful, the staff were super friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Can’t wait to go back”

“I recently visited VL Lounge for a High Society RI event and was pleasantly surprised over the transformation into a vibrant entertainment hub and an extra layer of excitement from the crowd present. It's not just a place to savor exquisite dishes like the Taquitos and Teriyaki Skewers; it's an immersive experience that turns a regular evening into a memorable hookah filled celebration.”

“Luckily a friend told us about what to expect here otherwise we would’ve been totally confused. There are two separate businesses located in one location called “The Royal Bobcat” with OUI over the entrance. If that isn’t confusing enough you’ll need to walk thru the bar area to find a couple of menus on a small counter or, you can use the QR code on each table to peruse the menu. Ring the bell on the counter and someone will appear to take your food order. If you want drinks you order from the bar. We had the gumbo which was a small bowl of a Southern grandma’s comfort food. Next, the gooey chicken wings coated in a Korean finger lickin’ glaze and the vege dumplings – crispy and delicious although I have had better at another Korean restaurant. Overall, the food was good and I really like the vibe of the place with stained glass and sparkly lights in an intimate setting. My only slightly negative comment would be the bartendress who is low on the scale of friendly and definitely not a smiler. Bartending isn’t difficult. Really it isn’t. I bartended in my youth in strip clubs to huge nightclubs (which is probably why I can’t hear well now). Your job is to be a purveyor of liquid happiness with a side of charm. Cracking a smile now and again will can turn this bar into a beacon of joy amidst a delightful menu of seoulful bayou Korean-Cajun fusion concoctions.Parking: It's Federal Hill where parking is always a challenge.”

Also conveniently located near an Asian goods convenience store of sorts.We went on a Satuday for an early dinner and were seated within 5 minutes. Staff were attentive enough. Food was quick to come out and came out together. We had the bulgogi, ramen and fried chicken this time around. I don't think you can go around with most dishes here.Most notably for my experience was the bathroom and atmosphere. No music was playing overhead which made it very quiet - depending on your preferences, this may be a great thing or a bad thing.What I appreciated about the bathroom was that the single stall bathroom was separated from the sink which made it easier for me to wash my hands before and after meals without waiting on a long line. Bathroom was well maintained.Seating can get pretty tight if you're on the lower level, so be wary of bringing large groups without calling in advance.Parking: Limited paid and/or free street parking and lots nearby.Wheelchair accessibility: Location is not easily accessible. Stairs leading up to the entrance. Stairs leading up to the bathroom.”

“I honestly love this place and have gone multiple times went there recently and I have to say the girl that served us clearly didn’t know what she was doing. We order a few appetizers again love everything about this place so I’m a fan of most of the menu but she brought me the wrong appetizers and I didn’t say anything because we are hungry and didn’t mind but she never put in the other plate . I had to ask her to reorder. Then we got to Raman dishes and she brought out the wrong dish and didn’t even present me the right plate. While she keeps asking every 5 min if everything’s is fine making us feel rushed. After the meal we paid and I wanted to tip her more while handing her the money I inform her that I miss calculated the tip and wanted to give her more and her response was (Yah you did short me some money ) RUDE and so out of line if she is every my server next time I won’t tip her anything.”

Wife and I enjoyed the Mac Daddy burger, Odeum chicken sandwich, and a King Street Steak Tip sandwich because it was too tempting. Our sever Nicole was amazing, and manager John was incredibly nice and accommodating. We can’t wait to come back here.”

“Came in during college visits with my son and we were so happy to have such an incredible meal start to finish!!! Great atmosphere with river views. Might be in my top 3 all-time meal experiences! We started with calamari, the bread and olive oil were perfect, my son had the Bolognese with just a perfect hint of fennel, and my ricotta cavatelli was superb, not too creamy and pasta was perfection… we finished our meal with the apple tart with crispy crust, and just the perfect amount of sweetness with the crèm anglaise! 1 million thanks for a perfect evening!!”

“Boyyyy, one of my spots I greedily don’t want to tell everyone about lest it somehow become too crowded or forced to increase prices. I’ll risk it to give Ivy its due credit. This has always been my fave spot to come when I’m gonna dine solo, sit at the bar in the corner and get a beer and burger. The burgers, I don’t know what makes them so good, but it’s like the griddle must be seasoned over time or something. It’s still the best burger in town aka all of RI. Their prices are totally reasonable, always have good happy chill music playing, and service has always been 10/10. Everyone’s always friendly and kind in a way that isn’t fake or too much. Just right. Today I got the smashed burger sub cheddar, onions o/s, sweet potato fries and a draft Fiddlehead. Couldn’t be better. Idk if my pic shows it but. These burgers. The fries just perfect ??”

“This place has now become one of my absolute favorite restraints in all of Providence! It is a quiet, intimate restaurant with a refined appearance. The staff is courteous, efficient and does a great job of explaining the dishes. However, the best part of Oberlin is the amazing, unique selection of dishes. The focaccia was perfectly crunchy and it paired very well with the olive oil. The agnolotti with apple and cauliflower sauce were also to die for! My one critique of the dish is that I wish there was more of it! The portion size wasn't very large, and left me wanting more! Still delicious though!”

“Located in the oldest indoor mall in America, Rogue Island has an eclectic Prov-Centric cuisine. If you haven't signed anywhere in Rhode Island this may be confusing. Let me explain. You see Providence has arguably the best food in North America and we have our own little twists to things..Unique, creative entrees and appetisers paired with local beers and spirits are just the beginning. I really can't do the quality of food here enough justice with words. They change the menu seasonally to reflect local sourcing and rhythms. They shop as local as possible. The chefs are locals. The vibe is Unique to Providence. It's located centrally downtown so there are no excuses because it is nearby buses, Uber and parking. “It’s a good spot that stays open later than most places in the area but with really good food. I’ve come back multiple times in one week.Loved almost everything I’ve had here. The charcuterie board comes with soft boiled eggs and toasts.I like the lighting in the evening ; nice and dim but I did see some people needing their phone lights to see the menu. I thought it was perfect lighting though.Great mashed potatoes. Very creamy and maybe whipped?The prices of some items are reasonable and others are a bit more expensive. Fries were $9 and they were great but I just think that’s an odd price for that.It does get really loud in here at night on weekends as they try to transition into more of a bar.Parking is obviously a bit difficult but they seem to offer valet services and I chose to walk instead. It’s also not far from the bus for easy public transportation.You should make a reservation if you decide to come here during popular times like Friday-Saturday nights but most other times are fine.”

“good grief the reviews from people expecting pace salsa or mexican food are bananas. don't listen to those gringos. we ordered online so we could google anything we had questions about at our own pace because i only know so much about guatemalan food. here are my notes: 1. order took a while to get ready, but it was a lot of food so i can understand it easily. it was piping hot even by the time it got home from the way they packaged it. they put my pupusas in a foil container so they stayed steamy and melty. that's service!!! 2. my boyfriend did not like fried plantains before eating here. he sincerely looked like he was having a religious experience eating the ones that came with his adobada. i did NOT get to try one. he didnt even offer!!! that's how much he liked them!! 3. my pupusas were killer. perfect sauce, perfect flavor. 4. we did not like the guatemalan tamal. but not because it was poor in quality; it was because we tried something new and it just wasn't to our taste. live and learn! 5. the prices are perfect. i refuse to eat anywhere that charges more than 3 dollars for a taco. $1.50 tacos is heavenly. $3.00 pupusa is dangerous. we will be back. the only thing missing is dessert”

“We went here Easter Day, everywhere else was full(which we expected). We found this place walking to a crosswalk by chance. We were welcomed in. Myself and my son got french toast, my girlfriend got eggs Benedict. When it came out I had a chuckle cause I was not expecting half a loaf of bread. But omg it was so good and light. My girlfriend couldn't stop eating her Benedict although she was full. My son enjoyed his also. The drinks the adults ordered was fantastic and mixed well. My son got chocolate milk. We paid 15$ a plate for the french toast, 22$ for the Benedict and around 12$ for the drinks not the milk though. You get your money's worth. A small place but absolutely worth it. “We rented the upstairs room for a bridal shower and it was the absolute perfect space and experience! It is on the smaller side, fitting a max of 25 people, but that was perfect as we had a guest list of only 20. The booking process was easy and the food was delicious, but the service is what stole the show. We had one server, Maria, for the whole party and she was a rockstar. She was seemingly always there when we needed her, she was so sweet, and she made great menu recommendations. I highly recommend renting The District’s space if you have a small gathering - it was top notch!”

And shortly after we sat down, our server (maybe she was the manager/owner?) brought over 2 glasses of Prosecco and wished him a happy birthday!!! What an amazing and thoughtful touch! “McBride's Pub in Wayland Square is truly a gem. When you walk into Mcbride's you get the feeling that you could spend all day there. The picky thing that's different between an actual real Irish pub in Ireland and McBride's is a fireplace. Many of the pubs I visited when I lived there had them but this is just as good. Plenty of seats at the bar, and tables around the corner to get some solid food and watch a game. Everyone's friendly whether you're a local or local for just a bite to eat.”
