Sharpe Refectory Cafeteria • $

“Impressive selection of cuisines with separate hot and cold beverage stations. They also have cereal dispensers and even an ice cream dispenser.

Much of the food at the kosher section is not reliable most of the time, as it is certified by Star-K, which does not adhere to the yashan laws of new vs. old grain (Leviticus 23:14, Challah 1:1, Orlah 3:9, Menachot 10:5-7, confirmed by Menachot 68b and Keritot 5a). The contents of the aforementioned ice cream dispenser, and those of the Minute Maid beverage dispensers, are reliably kosher.

- January 28, 2026 (kosher certification and reliability are subject to change)“

“12/24/25—In my quest to have at least one traditional Hispanic Christmas dinner, I was advised to buy some food here. I was very specific in my mission: pernil and rice and beans.
I also made an executive decision—not to get invited to anyone’s party on the 24th or the 25th. After traveling the world, I am officially tired. I don’t want noise, drama, or small talk. I want peace, quiet, and home-cooked food without the hassle.
So I drove to El Fogón. And guess what? They already had exactly what I needed. I ordered pernil and rice and beans—though I think they call it moro (I’m not 100% sure, but it was rice with beans and that’s what matters).
On the 25th, I will proudly assemble my make-believe but heartfelt traditional Hispanic Christmas plate. The only thing missing was ham, which would have been excellent, but no worries—I bought three pieces of steak ham to make something tomorrow. Creativity will prevail.
Let’s be honest: no Hispanic restaurant ever has a full traditional Christmas menu like some Italian Americans do for Thanksgiving . Anywho I digress , I was helped quickly, everything came to $21.16—which immediately made me think of Revelation 21:16: “The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide.”
And honestly, Broad Street felt just like that—wide open, laid out perfectly, and ready to welcome me straight into El Fogón with my pernil mission. Order complete, prophecy fulfilled, Christmas dinner secured. 🎄🍽️ well more like lunch because I don’t tend to eat dinner !!!“

“Food was amazing!

I went twice, one during lunch and again during dinner . Main difference I can remember between lunch and dinner was that they offered dim sum and steak. Their dimsum was good but I greatly enjoyed their fried rice, noodles, and cha siu. Along with their skewers!

Their sushi was mid tbh and so was their spring rolls. They offer a variety of foods, typical Chinese buffet entrees. They also had a salad bar and fruit for dessert plus ice cream which was nice.

Service was nice and fast, did not have to wait at all to be seated. Would love to go again!“
