“This place is a neighborhood jewel. Everything about it, the coffee (house made syrups and local bean brands), the atmosphere (no wifi), the lovely baristas. It's like a warm hug. You should stop in. Take note: it gets busy on weekend afternoons, and it's great to have that energy. But it can get tight with mostly standing room only. Outside of those hours, it's serene. I kinda wish it were laptop-free (maybe on weekends), esp since there's no wifi. But I get it. Other than that little thing, love it. Why haven't you been yet?“

“The Coffee Cup at Providence Mall is a hidden gem! It's the perfect spot to take a break during a shopping trip. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and they make some of the best coffee in the area. I love their wide variety of drinks—whether you’re in the mood for a classic latte, a cold brew, or something more unique, they’ve got you covered. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great place to relax for a bit.“

“I coincidentally went into this store when visiting Providence for the first time.

I ordered a chocolate croissant and a cup of cappuccino. I had no expectation. But after I took the first bite of the chocolate croissant, oh my, I feel I am ascending to the sky. The pastry was soft, fresh, layered with smooth chocolate. I immediately ordered their Swiss ham croissant. It was amazing! Before I left the store, I bought another chocolate croissant.

“Absolutely love this place for a breakfast wrap! The ingredient that sets them apart is their tortilla. This is absolutely my go-to when I want a breakfast burrito. It's a pretty cozy spot with street parking so I find it easiest to order ahead and just walk in and grab my food to go. I look forward to my next visit, great job by the staff and cooks.“

“I went to several businesses around where I live and the iced coffee is hit or miss. Today in particular I went to two places and the iced coffee was just absolutely garbage. One place the ice coffee tasted old, other one had a very strange taste. I drove down to Coffee Connection and they never miss. The ice coffee today was just as perfect as it always is. I just wish it was closer to my house. The staff is always very polite. 5 Stars!!!!!“

“I've recently travelled from England to visit a friend in Rhode Island. She purchased one of your cakes as a welcome cake a cute one with bees on it and also some chocolate chip cookies. The cake was absolutely amazing and is by far the best I have ever tasted. The cookies were great too.“

“Food was great. Good quality, well prepared. Place feels nicely updated from Cool Beans, albeit a little sterile/cold. Big issue is service - place is understaffed. They have a couple of kiosks tucked away when you walk in. Not clear that this is the best option for ordering because the two folks behind the counter are too busy prepping. Once they get the service issues solved, this place will be great.“

“I love this cozy neighborhood cafe that has been recently reinvented by owner, Jen. The staff is super attentive and kind and the coffee is excellent. Gwenivere is there with a smile and the food and drink menus, clearly carefully curated, have options for everyone. I’m hoping they are around for a long time!“

“They took away the “sourdough stick” which was their sourdough baguette named in a way that made it hard to tell what it was. I myself accidentally got a regular French baguette on multiple occasions when I actually wanted a sourdough one because I consider it a baguette. I think this is why it was selling less.

A bunch of other unique items like the walnut raisin loaf and pan de mie were also removed while nothing new was added. As others have said the place can feel a bit rote and it’s not mindblowingly amazing but it is the best in the area and solid for what it is. That being said, I have fewer reasons to go there now. Too bad.

I worked at a successful Boulangerie in a different city and they had a different approach. I can’t help but think if this place brought in the croissants and pastries from the one I worked at it would be even more popular and loved.

Edit: I can’t in good conscience give this place 3 stars because my complaints come from a place of love. So there you go have an extra star. Total rating 4 out of 7 stars“

“Delicious food and wonderful service! Popped in for breakfast at random and was so pleasantly surprised. The mint mocha? Phenomenal. The pancakes? Delicious. My only gripe is that a side of bacon was $3.99 and I got 3 pieces. But beyond that I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here and highly recommend.“

“Freakin’ awesome coffee & wraps! Stopped over in Providence for a night and this place was across the street and recommended by our host. We had the maple sea salt latte (1 iced, 1 hot with oat milk), breakfast wrap and chorizo & salsa verde wrap. Amazing flavors in everything and made our lazy morning perfect. We’ve already decided it’s our go to place whenever we’re anywhere near Providence. We may even take a detour! It was that good 😊“

“I visited New Harvest Coffee Roasters for the first time last week with my ICED COFFEE Summer Celebration coupon from RI Food Fights. This is my 4th July using these coupons and although I’ve seen the New Harvest coupon in prior years, I never used it. How sad, because it was one of my top 3 coffees this July! I only drink Decaf and the barista was kind enough to make me an Iced Decaf Americano. Delicious. I also snuck a sip of their cold brew (Yumm!) Cant wait to come back here with my husband.“

“The baristas that work in this store deserve a raise. They are so friendly and make every experience pleasant. They make the drinks the best. I have been to other Starbucks where they do NOT make the drinks correctly. They blend all drinks perfectly and make sure to blend syrups so that that they are not sitting at the bottom. The managers are so attentive and work to ensure a good environment and great product. They get to know you personally if you are a regular and they are fast and efficient. I wish there were something more I could do to let them know how appreciated they are.“

This small cafe is quick and easy. A bit pricier than other breakfast sandwiches but it was larger and good and fast. Plenty of seating and WiFi but they also let you use the side part for additional seats“

“I’ve been here a few times for both food & drinks. Interior is so so charming, I feel like I’m transported to a charming cafe/bar in Europe when I step inside. The food is great, I’ve tried a couple of sandwiches on their menu as well as the focaccia. Only issue is that I’ve had more unpleasant experiences with the staff than pleasant experiences. They’re generally very unfriendly (I might even go as far as to describe them as cold!) and slow. They either need to take customer service training, or remove the option to tip at the counter. Maybe this is my problem in that I need to be more comfortable with not tipping when the service is bad.

Despite the bad service, I really really want Sawyer’s to succeed. Providence lacks casual cafes / lunch spots, and Sawyer’s helps to fill that gap. Just maybe stay away if being treated like an inconvenience by staff is a deal breaker for you.“

“This is THE BEST coffee shop I’ve been to so far in providence. This place has amazing, delicious food. It’s very clean and the food tastes very fresh. It is also great quality for how cheap the food is. The owner and employees do a wonderful job and are super nice. I love it when they have specials like chicken quesadillas and empanadas. Their chicken is very juicy and filled with so much flavor. I also love their coffee! They have so many exotic espresso style drinks to choose from like the tres leches latte and the brown sugar shaken espresso. If you’re looking for cheap, high quality food and drinks with great customer service, this is a great place to go.“
