“If you are looking for affordable, tasty food and great portions? This is the spot! I walked in and was immediately greeted by the man behind the counter. I had a lot of questions and he answered them kindly and informed about so many items on the menu. There is an option for everybody! They have a good amount of high chairs where you can sit and eat. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai; it was fresh, hot and had a nice kick to it. For a drink, I ordered the strawberry passion fruit slush with lychee jelly. So good! I cannot wait to return!“

I only got pics of our appetizers as we were hungry and chowed on our mani courses. Started with a 1930 DAQ, Wawtuhmelon and a Vino Rosso Gaio - all drinks were tasty! We started with the Truffle fries and the Crispy Duck Meatballs- oh my both were great! The flavor in the Duck meatballs was amazing! The sweet chili glaze just hits it out of the park! On to dinner I ordered the Steak Frites - excellent flavor and cooked perfect! Wife ordered the Chicken Picatta - very tasty with a great lemon flavor! “One of my favorite restaurants on “The Hill”. The dining experience at Massimo is always a 5 star experience. Yesterday afternoon we had Janelle as our server and she was superb- it made it a 5 star PLUS visit. Blood orange Cosmos, eggplant appetizer, chicken parm, pistachio cannoli, tiramisu- all excellent. I’m lucky to have Pickerel as a way of keeping me grounded as I navigate these feelings. From the passionate and welcoming staff to the otherworldly flavors, having a perfect time at this eatery is the least difficult decision you’ll ever have to make. Of course the ramen but the wings and the dessert? Two words : “yeah man”“

The Wagyu Tenderloin was the best my daughter has ever had and my son said the same about his Ribeye. The butter poached libster tail was amazing as well. The clam chowder was excellent too. “Location/decor/ambiance: the owners have tried to turn the spacious brick and beam interior of a former factory building into a ghetto-ish inner cityscape skateboard park using graffiti-style airbrush graphics, little skateboards that serve as bar chair seat backs, concrete floors painted with Providence manhole covers, etc. Visually, the effect is mixed. I “get” what the owners are trying for, but it isn’t for me an “attractive” dining decor. It looks much more like a dance club for young twenty-somethings. I quickly adjusted to the inner-city grunge decor, but what we couldn’t adjust to was the VERY loud rap/hip-hop music blaring out of some very robust speakers non-stop. Talking was difficult. Yes, I’m an older person, but I don’t begrudge anyone their musical sensibilities… provide its not full of “***** and “nigga” and roaring out at at least 90 decibels. Whatever they’re trying to be, they need to remember that they are l (at 10 am) a restaurant, not a dance club. Food & service: unexpectedly, given the above criticism, the food was outstanding, I mean really good. Caught us off guard. Just beautifully imagined and realized. Would I return? Probably not. Even the great food cant quite overcome the soundscape. Interesting place, though“

If you aren't offered a Berg n Tube, you should get one. Definitely try the amazing food from Screaming Unicorn, and just enjoy the vibes!

“We had a great dinner there just before the Waterfires. I am a big fan of the Mongolian Beef, and my daughter traditionally gets the lo mein. Our server, Suelly, was excellent. She was super friendly, and helped to make sure the ingredients wouldn't interfere with food restrictions. We also had fun talking with her about music, concerts and other live performances. It's a great place to get good food and watch the people passing by outside in downtown Providence.“
