Restaurantji's Providence recommendations for the finest Mexican cuisine. From the Carne Asada to the Birria Tacos, have a fantastic Mexican dining experience and enjoy some of the town's tastiest Mexican food.
“La Pinata has become out weekly favorite. Mickey, Armando and their entire team works very hard to make sure you have a pleasant experience. Restaurant is very clean, the food taste the same everytime. Perfectly and authenticly seasoned. They have parking lot and off street parking is easy. I would highly recommend L Pinata, it's the best Mexican I have had on the East Coast. You are missing out if you don't try.“
“From the RGV in Texas, probably the best Mexican food in the Northeast I've had so far. Delicious food, the people are kind and friendly, it's a little loud but if you don't mind that, it's a great place for delicious food.“
“A really small restaurant but humble and authentic IMO. Got combo 5 with chorizo and French toast after being recommend it by Victoria who was great to talk to for a bit and was attentive. Food was big in proportion and tasted great. French toast was alright LOL. Definitely recommend and want to try their banana smoothie since they were out of it for next time..“
“Probably the best Mexican food in Providence and the best tacos I've ever had. Everything is so delicious and affordable too. Service is always so quick, but not rushed.Dietary restrictions: Really good for gluten freeParking: Can be tough to find a close spot sometimes, but there's usually something available“
“Excelente food .$25 per person is enough to have a very good diner . We order different dises and we are very happy with our order.I love that they have only mexican music playing and are very colorful..... I don't mind paying 18% on tip on any restaurant. The only difference on this one is that you have to pick up your plates and clean the table ?.And we pay the 18% anyway I think the employees deserved, but I think they should keep someone in charge to pick up the tables .. other things that you might want to do is let the employees use uniforms or t-shirts and hats with the restaurant name, I think, will step up to the next level ..I will definitely caming back with more friends, and I will share this place on all my social media ...“
“Staff were super friendly and atmosphere was super chill!! Great place for parties or just pulling up to the bar and meeting new people. Food was made to order and delish!! Burrito was perfectly sized and the beans were so flavorful. Will have to try the quac next time cause I was hella full with tbt bean dip and carne asada burrito!!“
“The location at 10 Sims ave is huge. This is much bigger than the location on Ives street. The food is always excellent and the staff are super friendly. On Saturdays a farmer market is open at the Farm Fresh HUB. You can't go wrong with the fried fish taco or the chicken taco. My husband loves all of the burrito options.“
“The food in this MARAVILLOSIRFULL place is SUPER GOOD, DELICIOUS, TASTY and YUMMY!!!??❤️??????%The price is way more reasonable than any other place around them and Providence. "WARRANTY" The portion is fair enough ?! You can go by yourself or bring someone to impressed with a good plate of food ???!I'm sure they can make kids meals. A lot of Mexican products and candy.(my best choice) ?? Just go and find out your self, u won't regret. ???❤️???Parking: Is 3 parking spot in front of the store but very uncomfortable to pull out cause traffic. Sometimes you can park close to the store with no problem. Besides that everything else is OK!!!!“
“The BEST Mexican food you’ll find in PVD. Our waitress tonight was amazing. My daughters adored her and the member of staff who was training alongside her. Thank you for an a great evening. Will 100% be back. ❤️Kid-friendliness: My daughters Clover and Cece were treated so well by the staff. It’s so hard to find a family friendly restaurant but they went above and beyond.“

“My wife and I had a wonderful time thanks to our bartender, Nathaly. We had the mezcal negroni and it was a complex and unique take on the classic Negroni. Very cool vibe and great music.Review part II: My wife and I came back the following night for margarita Monday. Rosy, the bartender, was awesome and super nice. She made great cocktails. Maria, the general manager, made us feel like we were at home. Great people and vibes!“
“Came here today for lunch. I was craving some authentic tacos and decided to give this a shot. I'm glad I did. Not only are they friendly but they also are very affordable and delicious. I ordered the Al pastor, the Barbacoa, and the carnitas. The carnitas were my favorite but the tacos were filled with meat and plenty of fresh cilantro and onion and lime. We ordered 6 tacos and they came out to $16.00. The truck is a bit unassuming and it's located in a parking lot across from the supermarket but great food. I'll definitely be back. There was a bit of a language barrier but lucky for me I'm well versed in ordering my food in Spanish lol. Definitely give them a try. They are cash only.“
“So I have to say I am really pleased that Diego’s has got its groove back. I was there in June for a disastrous brunch and we left aft 45 minutes of a really bad experience. I mention this as the owner must have cleaned house. I was there on Sunday for brunch and I can not help but to describe the experience as phenomenal. The service - impeccable. It was almost as if the waitress knew when our drinks were almost empty every time. She also had some great recommendations related to the food and drinks. The food - phenomenal. We had the crack fries as an appetizer and it was not only great but the portion large enough that I had trouble finishing my actual meal. And the special - I had the Chicken Benedict. The only thing I can say bad about it was it was so big I couldn’t finish it. Everything about it was perfect - it had a little zing, the cornbread was a perfect alternative to an English Muffin, and the chicken so good. So my compliments to the owner and staff. I don’t see my review from June but I’m sure they remember it and changes were made. We decided to give it another try and I will I say this without hesitation… this was probably one of the best brunch meals I have had in a long time. Well done - we will definitely be back.“
“FYI, not a fancy restaurant but a very friendly place, Im not gonna lie when it comes to tacos i am very picky but these small restaurant at a corner street is my happy place, every weekend my family and i go there to enjoy a delicious tacos.!Parking: Front of the restaurant or across, street parkingWheelchair accessibility: At a corner with accessibility for wheelchair“
“It was so nice going to a restaurant and being able to order anything off the menu. We got the memela, burrito, Chile relleno, and churros and chocolate with dulce de leche. I would recommend all of them, it was a lot of food though, good for leftovers.“
“The food was very good & glad the person I was w/ chose to go here for lunch. I ordered a steak bomb plate w/ lettuce, tomatoes, American cheese & bacon (gotta love they offered bacon!) along w/ an order of cajun fries and a fountain drink Dr Pepper. I will definitely go there again!“
“(Translated by Google) I have bought tamales from this bakery and I like them very much. The cashier helped my friend and I by letting us know about the "for rent" sign on the door that we had not seen. Very kind. Sufficient parking. There are tables to sit at. Place is small but cozy.(Original)Yo he comprado tamales de este panadería y me gustan muchísimo . La cajera me ayudo a mi amiga y a mi dejándonos saber sobre el anuncio de “se renta “ en la puerta que no habíamos visto . Muy gentiles . Parqueo suficiente . Hay mesitas donde sentarse . Lugar es pequeño pero acogedor .“
“I ordered a burrito, bowl, torta, and kid's quesadilla. We all loved the flavor and freshness of our food. The prices were good and the staff very friendly. I asked about giving a tip and they said they don't accept tips but had a locked box at counter to accept donations to local food bank. Worth a visit...high quality food at a good price and nice staff committed to the community.“
“Got the small nachos with pulled Chicken and 3 tacos supreme. Delicious. Only left at front desk of my hotel by Grub Hub. I put my room number in the message field of the App, but it did not print out on the receipt so the front desk did not know which room to ring. What if it were a bomb? Or a baby? The front desk needs to know who ordered what. That sounds like a GrubHub issue. Again, food was great.“
“My favorite bagel place in RI! Their bagels have the perfect amount of chew. You can also get a great variety of flavored cream cheese. Yum! This is the same group that used to work on Brook Street. Their breakfast bagel sandwiches always have the perfect bagel to egg to bacon and cheese ratio. It hits the spot!“
“My partner and I were craving tacos so we looked in the area and decided on trying this place and we were so glad we did. I got two Al Pastor tacos and a Horchata. The filling was juicy and flavorful while the tortilla was moist and the perfect texture. It's a small place, and even though we came around 2:30pm, it was still pretty busy with people coming in to eat. The service was friendly and very speedy. If I'm ever back in the area, I'd love to come have tacos here again.“
“Best rotisserie chicken in the state, they do catering and actually care about not wasting food. They wouldn't sell me one of their dishes until I tried it and they made sure I was going to like it. Very nice and home style atmosphere.“
“This was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I ordered the tacos and chicken bacon ranch wrap. The food was excellent. I loved the tacos which would have been plenty for me. I'm saving the chicken bacon ranch wrap for the next day! I definitely be ordering from here again.“
“It is our favorite place to go for street tacos. We have been regulars there for many years and travel about 45 minutes to get there almost weekly. Have tried other places but this is, by far, the best. The huaraches are the super yummy... Crispy yet soft with steak or carnitas generously piled on top with all the fixings! Their homemade hot sauces are delicious and can definitely give your taste buds a kick! Honestly, whatever we've tried there has never disappointed!“
“We were nearby. Checked Yelp for local Mexican restaurants and we just had to try it out. Not disappointed...in fact, we enjoyed it. Entered and we were immediately greeted and seated ourselves. Nice little place...nothing fancy, but the food was great...exceeded our expectations. Lily singlehandedly took care of us and many others without missing a beat. She was on fire! Great job Lily, thank you! We had Margaritas and some combo plates...and the usual chips n salsa. Everything was delicious. My go-to meal is the chili rellano, and it was GREAT. If you pass thru Cottonwood, make this place a must-stop for yourself, you won't be disappointed.“
“Definitely the best Mexican food in the region. I've been about a dozen times. The ingredients are always fresh; the portions are generous, and flavor is outstanding. Avoid C**potle if you live close enough to get to a Baja's; the difference is night and day.“
“I came here today, and I got the trace my chase and the quesadilla and the Hibiscus margarita. That quesadilla was literally a ton out of 10 it was made with this brisket meat that literally falls apart in your mouth. It was so delicious and then the trace slight chase was so scrumptious that frosting was amazing The margaritas were literally 10 out of 10 so perfectly done. You can tell that the people who own this place have so much passion for what they do. It genuinely shows in the food and the customer service. The owner was such a sweet lady. She came around to make sure that everything was OK and that we loved everything. I could not say enough good things about this place I Will definitely return if you are looking for amazing food and amazing people definitely come by“
“$10.00 buys 3 tacos of your choice (each can include a different filling!). The portion size is generous and the quality of the meat is phenomenal. The salsas (red/green) included on the side are fantastic. You should go out of your way to eat here.“
“The food was absolutely amazing with an assortment of options including vegetarian/vegan options!I was immediately greeted and the staff behind the counter were quick to start my order. There's plenty of seating for those looking to grab lunch with friends/colleagues. Would absolutely recommend as a frequent lunch spot“
“The food here is soooo good! I've been looking for a place that serves authentic birria tacos and this place is it!! The flavors were to die for and the loaded my tacos up with the birria meat and also had consome! The works here are also very friendly and provide excellent service! 10/10would definitely recommend!!“
“Came for taco takeout as apart of the RI Food Fights passport promotion and received two birria tacos a side of birria consommé. The consommé was amazing and the tacos were pretty good although I would have preferred them to have a bit more salt which is strange as I find Mexican food to be generally salty but I see this as a benefit to those who are watching their sodium intake. The tacos had plenty of cheese, a good amount of cilantro and onion, the tortillas and meat were flavorful.Plenty of street parking and outdoor seating available. There seemed to be a converted RV with tables you could sit in if it's too cold or raining. Not sure if there is a bathroom on premises. Loud, fun music was playing. Service was very friendly but it should be noted that it's CASH OR ZELLE ONLY.“
“The food was wonderful, tasty. It came out quick and hot. The spanish rice was fluffy and spicy. Thr service was friendly and made you feel comfortable. Absolutely love the atmosphere. The wall mural is beautifully done and each time you look at it you find something new. Definitely get a tamarin margarita.“
