“This place is the dish worth driving to despite the bridge construction and driving delays! My husband and I went for dinner for Valentine’s Day yesterday. We were worried about our reservation as we were quite late. The staff were so kind on the phone and understanding. The valet was very attentive. We arrived and were seated immediately. The restaurant is clean with a fun and pleasant atmosphere. The food was phenomenal and the server was well versed with all menu items and very attentive, despite how busy the dinner rush was. The owner came to make sure everyone was happy with their meal as well. We can’t wait to come back!“

“Out of the slew of good restaurants on Hope Street, this one stands out. I ordered the Mofongo Benedict and it was so good that I had to order it again when I came the second time. The combination of textures from the plantains to the eggs to the sauce is just perfect. They also label their dairy free and gluten free options clearly, which is very helpful. The drinks are also exceptional, and they have an extensive wine collection. I tried the horchata latte and hibiscus tea and both were really flavorful.“

“First time here and was very impressed! My favorite Mexican place was closed (la Lupita) so i decided to go across the street to check out mi Ranchito! The service was awesome, two very sweet girls walked me through the menu. The bartender was clearly very well loved by staff and customers. Seemed like she knew the place like the back of her hand. She praised the soft tacos (which were delicious). I got one shrimp, beef, and chicken. Came with a salad and side of rice — the rice was phenomenal! But the star of the show was the Chicken soup. You can only do a large size for take out, but I was given the choice of having my chicken grilled… I said, why not? And I am so glad I did. The chefs put the stewed chicken, still on the bone, and crisp it up over heat. The chicken of the soup was then boxed separately from the broth, and I was shocked about how much delicious chicken they gave us! Falling off the bone, tender, but with a bit of a crust from the grilling at the end. So so good. Also came with a quarter of avocado and rice. A really good deal. I got a Modelo waiting for my food, and the total came out to $36 (and then i tipped $8, totaling $44!!“

“The best Guatemalan food restaurant in the State, all the dishes are a very good size, the price is fair and the authentic Guatemalan flavor. The waiters are very friendly and serve you like royalty. The place is nice and small for the number of people who come to eat on weekends due to its fame.Lately I've been ordering for pickup and the orders are exactly as I requested. The Micheladas are very good, in short I think the only things that should be improved are the bathrooms, which are very small, and the parking.“

“Authentic food that will have you asking for more. Small but enough space to set a table for 9 of us without feeling tight while many more enjoyed their dishes around us. Plates are big; easily shareable. My friends said the drinks were yummy and strong. And you must order the made from scratch on a little booth by a lovely lady guacamole. It’s AMAZING! We added extra lime and salt. Bathrooms are clean. Parking lot available. Good price.Vegetarian options: Plenty in each category.Parking: The restaurant has a big parking lot that is free or you can park on the street. We left three cars safely in the parking lot to go to Federal Hill and came back a few hours later with no problems.Kid-friendliness: High chairs and changing tables.Wheelchair accessibility: Street level entrance.“

CASA CHAPINA RESTURANT Y SPORT BAR. Latin American

“good grief the reviews from people expecting pace salsa or mexican food are bananas. don't listen to those gringos. we ordered online so we could google anything we had questions about at our own pace because i only know so much about guatemalan food. here are my notes: 1. order took a while to get ready, but it was a lot of food so i can understand it easily. it was piping hot even by the time it got home from the way they packaged it. they put my pupusas in a foil container so they stayed steamy and melty. that's service!!! 2. my boyfriend did not like fried plantains before eating here. he sincerely looked like he was having a religious experience eating the ones that came with his adobada. i did NOT get to try one. he didnt even offer!!! that's how much he liked them!! 3. my pupusas were killer. perfect sauce, perfect flavor. 4. we did not like the guatemalan tamal. but not because it was poor in quality; it was because we tried something new and it just wasn't to our taste. live and learn! 5. the prices are perfect. i refuse to eat anywhere that charges more than 3 dollars for a taco. $1.50 tacos is heavenly. $3.00 pupusa is dangerous. we will be back. the only thing missing is dessert“

“Awesome restaurant!!! Local gem!!! My wife and I have been looking for a new Peruvian restaurant since we moved to Rhode Island and we finally found a new staple! We ordered Ceviche and Jalea. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious!!! All the seafood tasted like they were just caught, cooked and arrived right to our table. This is probably the best Peruvian food we ever had. Highly recommend anyone to stop in for a good meal. ?Updated Review 10/02/2023:We ordered delivery from here often! Today we didn't receive the correct item that we ordered but they were able to fix it right away even though it was past their business hours. They even included a free baked item for us to try. I really appreciate the great food and service from here!! This remains to be our favorite restaurant in the area!!!“
