The women there is extremely rude and constantly has her ear pods on talking to whom ever and makes you feel guilty going in there. Today was no exception. I was waiting to order and was told to hurry up as she wanted to close early. Needless to say I walked out and as soon I did she closed the cafe. 90 mins earlier than advertised. My self and my wife have twins in the NICU and everyone has bent over backwards for us except this place!!!! Go figure….

As someone who’s at the hospital a lot and there’s limited options around, they’re never opened on time….. The staff is super rude and unhelpful and act like your bothering them when wanting to order. If it wasn’t my only option for coffee other then the cafe I wouldn’t spend my money here. Only giving 3 stars for the fact the coffees pretty decent.

I've been at the hospital a lot recently and have tried avoiding the cafeteria so this place was the next best thing. Food is good and I love their iced coffees. Unfortunately, service isn't the best. All 4 times I've come, service wasn't friendly or helpful. It also takes awhile to get your food -- I recommend ordering and paying online so your food is ready to go.

Sure, Au Bon Pain is French I think. If not, how do you explain the rudeness? Viva La grabon vous Moola- voola touche! First first off, this ABP is in a women's hospital so they know I'm not going to be coming back soon. Second first off this place is so poorly laid out that people have to push each other out of the way to get to stuff. The ice is fifteen feet from the iced coffee and the cream is another fifteen. It's a bad set up. Third first off, was the bagel ... end of the world bagel. You see, I saw the chef put cream cheese on the bagel bought before the one I was getting. He slathered it with a generous heaping. Then one second later he makes the one I was buying. He picks up the stainless little deep the cream cheese was in. He started to scrape it, struggling to find some cream cheese in there. He has to work it, working it baby, trying to find cream cheese in an otherwise empty container. As I'm watching him do this I say, "If you're running out of cream cheese, maybe I can buy some from you to put on that bagel." I mean the amount was a smear, not as big of a smear as this review, but a mere smear. He says, "Extra cream cheese over there." On the way out I tell the manager at the register about the chef's lack of ability to get a new cream cheese container. He says to me, "That will be $12.56." So I say, "I'm sorry I was cheated on cream cheese, I have my apologies and I'm happy to help you with your lack of spreading skills and common sense by buying extra cream cheese from you. I was happy to help myself by spending extra." They know I won't be back so why really care? The good bread? No, The bad bread!!

Nice place to pick up some light food when at the hospital.

Slow service. Unclean tables pretty much all of the time. Sorry, but I've brought this to the attention of the managers before with little results.

Good food, but a bit pricey.

I am often forced to eat here as I see patients at Rhode Island Hospital and generally won't eat at the in-house cafeteria there. I've read the reviews from others and all I have to say is that this Au Bon Pain isn't a terrible bad location. It's pretty standard to other Au Bon Pain's, their soups are good, I like their prepared foods and their specialty sandwiches. The location itself isn't very large so you may struggle to find a seat. It can get busy so expect a line. Some of the staff can be hit or miss but I've never experienced outright rudeness, bad food, or service.

The location in RI hospital - the staff literally has the worst attitude EVER, I was actually appalled . I asked very nicely for a custom sandwich with just avocado, spinach and tomato and the girl at the register huffed and puffed and literally put her hand up to her head as if I was making her day the most impossible, difficult day ever. Seriously guys?! It's not that hard. Change out your staff they're clearly miserable, unhelpful and unfriendly.

Placed a catering order. Was supposed to be here at 12pm. It's 1:48pm and I still don't have my order! Was “overlooked” initially and then was told it would be here between 130-2pm. Called back and now I'm told 205pm. Never again, absolute worst!
