Yesterday we arrived in Rhode Island from New York after a 4-hour drive with traffic. We checked into a nearby hotel and went out for dinner. Yes, we didn’t have a reservation — but when we walked in, there were only three people at the bar and one table occupied. The hostess told us they had no tables available.
My 7-year-old daughter was crying because she was hungry, and I honestly couldn’t believe what I was hearing. All 15+ empty tables were reserved? Really? I don’t know why we were turned away — maybe because of my accent, I don’t know — but we’ve traveled to so many countries and have never experienced anything like this.
To double-check, I looked on OpenTable, and of course there were tables available. So disappointing. Shame on them — turning away a family with hungry kids for no reason.
We walked one block to a Mexican restaurant, which was completely packed, yet they still managed to find a table for us right away. Fantastic service there.
So yes — avoid this place at all costs.

We are so grateful for the wonderful experience helped create at our wedding reception. The food was delicious, the atmosphere welcoming, and our guests had an amazing time.
The only issue we encountered was that nuts were included on the charcuterie board, even though we had mentioned groom’s severe nut allergy beforehand. We hope this feedback helps ensure future events are even safer.
Overall, we truly appreciate the care and effort you put into making our celebration so special. Thank you!

Had such a memorable and lovely dinner here! We tried the tasting menu and absolutely loved it. We got forgotten about when the wait staff changed over but they were extremely gracious about it and comped a cocktail which we really appreciated. Great experience overall.

Nice visit to Bayberry for their Sunday brunch menu. We started with the Oysters which were all local varieties and nice clean and fresh. The White Fish Melt, Chicken sandwich and the cobb salad were all liked. They have a nice wine selection of both bottles and by the glass along with featuring beers from a Connecticut brewery which were nicely crafted. Service was a little slow and the staff did apologize for that. Look forward to going back.
