My wife and son had dinner at Blakes. My chili soup was outstanding and my wife's beef stew was also outstanding. We all had steaks. Not high quality, but good for the money. We also had drinks, which were priced fairly. We enjoyed the atmosphere. It is very much a local pub with lots of locals. Our bill for 3 came to a total of $132.39 without the tip.
Great local eatery! Nice casual place for a bite before or after a show or an event in the city. It gets crowded, but the food and service are consistent and exactly what you want from a pub. The staff are delightful and knowledgeable about the neighborhood and what’s going on in the city for the weekend. The interior of the restaurant is quite small, so you are better off arriving before supper or dinner time. The waitress was bitter, as if she didn't want to serve us. Otherwise nothing else negative to say. The dishes were delicious and well cooked.
