I tried the hush puppies and the fish + chips. Both were really, really good!!! I grew up in the south and was excited to try this place out. His breading on the fish was unique, and made the meal much lighter than the traditional fry. The seasoning creeps in later. It's not the traditional fish fry, and I really enjoyed it!Can't wait to try to chicken biscuit next time!
We’ve been here a few times, and the first time was the best time! the fish & chips, fried chicken & fries were ON POINT. the second time was decent, not as good as our first experience, but still decent. The third time, however, was a disappointment. everything was crunchy, hard and dry. We plan on giving it another try in the future though because we want to support a Black-owned business! ☮️❤️
I did not like nor enjoy any of the food I got here. I was hesitant to give a review as I really don't like to give bad reviews. Not sure if I went on a bad day or what. But I ordered the fried chicken dinner. Chicken was very salty, Mac n cheese was ok, greens were salty but probably the best part of the meal. I didn't receive the cornbread. And the sweet potato pie was awful! Tasted like there was way too much all spice. I actually threw my dinner away. I most of the greens, half the Mac a chicken leg and the garbage got the rest. I really hope I just went on an off day as I've heard nothing but good things about this place.
The biscuit chicken sandwich with honey butter and cheddar is really good! The Nashville one too. And the bucket is a great deal!
I saw this place on The phantom gourmet and honestly I had given up on eating chicken out because it all taste like rubber or cloned chicken and is full of breading and bones. Until I took a well worth ride to Providence a friendly neighborhood that houses a small take out restaurant and if you drive to fast you might miss it especially in the summer because the tree covers the coke sign. Hard to find parking but trust me go around the block and find a spot it will be worth it once you taste this chicken. I ordered a bucket of chicken and some Hush puppies (cornmeal with clams) The hush puppies were good but the chicken on the other hand , now that was truly amazing such big piece of chicken filled with Juicy white/ dark meat with each bite better than the last. They have dipping sauces too But you don’t need them you will want to enjoy the flavor of this mouth watering chicken. When I eat out, I will be getting my chicken from here as long as they are around. This place is amazing a hidden gem and the ladies who run/work here are truly friendly, and amazing just like their restaurant.
Tried for the first time today and ordered the Tenders and Waffle fries because I wanted some chicken. It smelled amazing when I got it, nice and hot...but there's no flavor. It has seasoning but lacks salt. Was very disappointed ☹️ Fries were alright but again where's the salt???
Stopped here for lunch after visiting the Roger Williams Zoo. It was about 10-15 minutes away which was convenient. The food was amazing! We ordered the double burger, spicy chicken sandwich, and chicken tenders and waffle fries. My favorite was the spicy chicken sandwich hands down! The sweet tea they serve here is very refreshing and not overly sweet. Definitely a great lunch but it did take a while to get our food even though we were they only customers there at the time. The pricing for food here was very reasonable and the food quality was great. I've never had such crispy waffle fries (tops Chick-fil-A waffle fries). Give this place a shot!
They were out of the fried chicken plate, so I went for the fried tenders and a couple of sides. The meat was perfect - juicy but not raw, however, the breading had no crunch at all - it was just chewy. Chips were chewy too and fried pickles were burnt. Not much cheese in the Mac and cheese. Coleslaw was good if you like a lot of celery.I guess, overall, it's good quantity for the price, but the quality is questionable.
I am disappointed to say that my past 3 visits to Bucktown have been very poor experiences. The chicken was legitimately inedible and had to be thrown in the trash both of the last two times I ordered a Chicken Sando. When they first opened, the food was great. Lately, i can honestly say I get a better quality piece of fried chicken at a Wendy’s. No wonder why they are going out of business.
Pretty close to the worst fried fish I’ve ever had. This place is super inconsistent with their quality of food. Only giving the second star because my fries were good. I’ve been here a handful of times and I’m never super impressed - kept hoping it would get better.

More like Sucktown! The owner of this place is scamming the public!
Bucktown is a regular stop in our take-out rotation. The Chicken Sando is so so sooo good. I usually order an extra side of comeback sauce for extra saucey goodness. The past several times that I’ve been here have been especially delicious. Can’t wait to stop in again soon!
Some of the best fried chicken in RI, but sadly hit or miss. I've been here a few dozen times in the last couple years and the quality is just so inconsistent. It's a shame.
The chicken was awesome! However, the sides tasted off and were inedible. Thankfully we also ordered the waffle fries and those were very crispy and tasty.Seems like from other reviews this place is hit or miss. I'd say that's accurate.
