We had a really good dinner at Cassarino's. We sat on the third floor and our server was very attentive. Our only challenges were that it was extremely cold in the dining room so we all kept our jackets on during dinner and our calamari had a ton of oil at the bottom of the serving dish. Otherwise, our entrees were delicious and really filling.
I have been there twice before. Once we sat on the first floor with about 6 adults in our party and it was great. The last time we were there we were with another couple and were sat on the third floor, very nice view and lighting. The most recent time we were sat in the middle floor with another couple and it just seemed like such a different place. The noise level was crazy, and we couldn't hear eachother well. Not sure if the middle floor is typically only for families with kids, since there were so many there, but if that is the case, I will be requesting 1st or 3rd floor from now on
Good meal overall, service was exceptional. Food was good. Wine selection excellent. Very noisy though overall, not that's it's bad, it was tough to have a quiet conversation.. but that's not why we were there!
The chicken escarole soup was savoy, Chicken Francais tender and flavorful, and the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream was a perfect end to a lovely meal.
Food and service were fantastic, as usual. We did have a fan, above our table, blowing cold air when we sat down. Our server, Janelle, addressed that immediately after we mentioned it to her.
Andrew was a great waiter. Wine and food both amazing. Our favorite place to go on Federal Hill
The food and service was wonderful. The only negative is we were seated in the lounge and it very loud and distracting.
Food was delicious! Service was fabulous! When we were finished, the wait staff never once made us feel like we were being rushed to leave. Would definitely recommend and would definitely go again.
For years now, Cassarino's has been an amazing spot when my fiancée and I are looking for a special night out. We have also had family gatherings with parents and children to celebrate birthdays or anniversaries as well. The reason: The food and service is always top notch from the second you arrive. Valet service out front is much appreciated always, especially on a cold night or with older loved ones. Upon entering, a warm greeting is always welcome! Our most recent visit was like many of our visits over the years. We sat at the bar. The bartender was sociable and friendly and very attentive. Patrons next to us on either side were very warm and friendly. This is something we have just come to expect on any visit to Federal Hill, especially Cassarino's! It is just a different ambiance, no matter where we go to eat anywhere! Our meals were cooked to perfection: Sicilian with Chicken and Sicilian with Steak. Both came out as if they had just come from the kitchen out of the oven or on top of the stove. Everything was just right. We had also split toasted raviolis with extra sauce and a side Caesar salad. Again, just right. If you are looking for a great meal with amazing service and ambiance, choose Cassarino's You will not be disappointed! All these years later, we keep coming back!

Pasta unimpressive: pesto not as good as my wife makes; carbonara uses nothing special ham. Big portions…but not very delicious. Friendly server.

Obviously the food is outstanding. Greatest meatballs EVER!! But I want to call out from the valet parking people, to the wait staff, and also the chefs. Awesome job, and very welcoming group of people. Thanks for feeding me and my family ❤️

I have dined at Cassarinos on two separate occasions, About 2 1/2 to 3 years apart from each other. Our first experience was average as we had many people recommend this restaurant to us. The food we had at that time was also nothing to write home about, typical average Italian food. And the service was as expected as well.
Unfortunately, our most recent trip was a step down from the first. We had family in town that had requested to eat here based on its reputation in Providence. We had a party of about 10 and most of the people in our party. Ordered their Sunday special on the menu (Featuring an appetizer, entrée of our choosing, and dessert). I am not sure if it was because of our larger party which automatically applied a 20% gratuity to our bill, but our service was horrible. The waitress servicing our table seemed more focused on other tables in our area and very rarely checked to see if we needed water, additional drinks, and it took us about 25 to 30 minutes to just receive bread with oil and Parmesan to our table. Our 6 o’clock reservation did not leave the restaurant until just about 8:45 that evening. We even received looks of distain from a service member when we had to ask a couple different times for a spoon to stir sugar and cream into coffee before waiting 20 minutes just for our dessert to arrive after ordering. Where we were seated as well, did not seem to be as busy in the first place. The appetizers we did have were pretty average, as well as our entrée dishes. Most of the entrées ordered were on a scale of OK to good Budget feature generous portions. The desserts on the other hand were not very good at all. The tiramisu was among the worst I’ve ever had. This was commonly said amongst those at our table who also had this dessert. I’ve had tastier Versions from the refrigerated cake section of Walmart.
In my personal opinion, I feel there are far better options for Italian food, both on Federal Hill, and throughout Rhode Island itself. I have only lived in the area for five years and I’m sure there was a heyday to this restaurant. But unfortunately, average to subpar food and bad service are the new normal here.

Amazing service, sat at the bar and ordered fried ravioli, stuffed mushrooms and gnocchi alla vodka. Got a side of their Alfredo sauce for dipping, the best I’ve had! Everything was unbelievable, a must try in fed hill!
