Their dedication to tea is wonderful. The staff also was very kind to put up with my request to only fill the mug up a quarter way with boiling water so I could add water to steep their green teas at cooler temps. Would love to see more options for smaller more concentrated tea flavors in a gong fu or senchado style without having to book an event there. I was eventually able to get a flavorful brew, but in order to provide quality extractions that let the tea truly shine, they need to find a set up for serving tea that isn't putting a bag full of tightly rolled leaves that cannot expand into a large mug of very hot water. I imagine they get mobbed when brown is in session and this style of serving is a necessity to keep up with the rush. I would gladly go back to book private tea service, or for the brothy and vibrant umami of the kabusecha. Better tea than you can find anywhere in Boston, and a worthy reason for a day trip.
Absolutely amazing coffee! The French vanilla and mocha espressos we ordered tasted deliciously like French vanilla and chocolate. Not watered down at all and was the perfect amount of flavor. Thank you!
best matcha in the state
The strawberry in the Strawberry Matcha Latte was the best part of the drink because it tasted very fresh. The matcha itself was just okay; I felt like you could taste the matcha shortage. The teddy bear was cute but didn’t add anything to the drink flavor-wise, so it’s not worth the extra $2.75 if you don’t care for it.
The inside of the store is nice. I liked the ceramics and merchandise that were for sale.
This is my third order from Ceremony, and I’ve never had an issue before, but today I ordered a mango matcha and noticed my drink was full of PLASTIC! At first I figured it was part of the mango flavoring, but I started to pour out the drink (to figure out what was going on) and it was full of plastic threads / strings! You can barely see in the photo, but the drink was filled with this stuff. I went to call the shop and realized there was no number to call. Very disappointed.
some nice espresso in the weekend mornings it can SUPER busy and or crowded but espresso and other very interesting items on the menu. There is a little green bear to discover in your drink to discover. Nice people . .
Great drinks but what happened to the coconut milk option?

Ceremony has been on my list of cafes to visit in Providence and it didn't disappoint. We stopped by while we were in town on the Friday after Thanksgiving around 3pm and it was pretty packed. By the time we got our drinks, it cleared out a lot and we got counter seats. Seems like a popular place for people working on their laptops.
I got the Adzuki Matcha Latte, which I really enjoyed. Not too sweet, and it had a nice balance of matcha flavor with the red bean.
Delicious matcha lattes!
Tea ceremony was wonderful.
The teas we tried were rich and interesting, the chocolate babka was yummy, and the service from Cameron was absolutely stellar. A great local business.
If you're in town, do not hesitate to make a booking and enjoy your time here.

Coffee is great and menu always provides something new to try.
But some of the people...at least one person makes it not worth it. The bar has a sign that says no laptops. Specifically, "no laptops." I get it. That's fine. I like to read on my iPad and was doing just that. Until an employee comes out and takes one of the small signs that says "no laptops at bar" and puts its directly in front of me as if I didn't see it and as if I was using a laptop. He made a comment to the effect of, "we ask that people don't use laptops at the bar, phones are okay." Again, I'm reading on an iPad (pretty much a big iPhone).
He walks away. Then he walks back by and I simply say to him, "if you specifically don't want people using tablets as well, it'd be nice if that sign said 'no laptops and tablets' so someone knows and doesn't need to be called out for doing something they believe is okay." It was his eye roll and dismissive attitude and him just sighing and walking away that earned this 1-star review. Just be a nice human and show an ounce of consideration to your customers. It's too bad, because I don't mind paying $8 for a latte (including a 20% tip) and when I do come here I usually spend $25-$35 between a few coffees and a snack. But I'll spend my money at Starbucks instead, where they're much friendlier and respectful.
