The best staff in Providence. Food was more than excellent. They’re quick, delicious, and made a wonderful environment
We went to dinner at CHOP right before our PPAC show. The concept is interesting as the menu is crafted with the help of aspiring chefs from the Genesis Center’s training program. Very cool concept!
Our waitress Emily was attentive, kind, and checked in on us quite often. Other staff helped her as well, and everyone was super friendly. The space itself is warm with nice holiday place settings, spacious tables, and a cozy atmosphere.
Cocktails were creative and interesting. For food, we tried the salmon and the short rib. They were flavorful and delicious, just served a touch too cold but still good overall. The kofta appetizer was equally delicious. We tried the Japanese Crepe Cake with mixed berry coulis and that was delicious, but a little too much mixed berry coulis.
Overall, a fun experience and I’d return to support the program!

We decided to visit CHOP last night before going to PPAC for Hadestown and it was a great decision! The entire staff was attentive but not intrusive and the food and drinks were amazing. My short rib entree came with a delicious spaetzle that I heartily devoured. The dessert was a sea salt chocolate chip brownie served in a skillet with coffee ice cream! They do include a service charge which is both explained on the menu and by our server and it goes to the culinary program there as well as all the staff preparing and serving the food. Can’t wait to return and try more items!

Went in for dinner and the restaurant was half empty but still told to sit at bar due to pending “reservations”. 45 minutes later as we leave, restaurant remains half empty, which is annoying as we specifically wanted table service, but not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. What is a big deal is the chicken dish was the worst dish I have had in years. Zero seasoning, immersed in a thin/watery sauce and a fishy taste. Poorly cooked potatoes, mushrooms and asparagus on top, all for $24 a plate. I’m very easy to please with food, not a fine diner whatsoever, but this was a miss after the first bite. Even the general vibe of the place is “off” - the check is provided in an old book for some sort of rustic charm, but the paper bill itself pushes you to use a phone app to pay. Not very romantic. By the way, auto gratuity is included at 18% even for two people regardless of service quality. Awful.

My favorite place in downtown Providence to go for coffee, the space is very calm. Customer service is A+, the food is delicious, and the chocolate cookies are the best

CHOP is a wonderful dining experience and would recommend everyone in Providence give it a try! My husband and I did the date night Thursday special. $60 for a bottle of Chenin Blanc, brussel sprout app, 2 entrees, and incredible dessert. Service was beyond excellent.

Amazing craft cocktails, innovative menu with a little bit of everything to choose from. The staff is so welcoming, attentive and kind. The Cesar salad is so delicious- light and super fresh. The scallops and risotto-exquisite! This is a wonderful place that you have to try out!

My nonprofit held a private event at CHOP, and we wanted to commend the staff for an excellent job. The food was very nicely done, and they worked with us to make the experience just what we needed. I love this location, and it was very clean and nice inside. My guests can't stop talking about how much they liked CHOP! Thank you, and highly recommended.

A very cool spot for a fantastic bite to eat.
The vibes are cool, calm, relaxing yet has tasteful élégance. The chairs welcome you to take a load off, stay and chat while sharing food with friends, significant others, or even enjoying a drink and book by yourself.
The service was top tier. Everyone was very friendly, informative, and provided a level of attention that you don't seem to find at a lot of places anymore. They really care.
On the note of care, they put a lot of detail and passion into their food. We got the date night special, which (for us), was a green goddess salad, bottle of white wine, chicken piccatta, steak, and a brownie sundae. The food had a level of flavor and depth that I wasn't expecting. The piccatta was one of the best Ive had. The brownie sundae with the house vanilla was incredible. For $60, you can't beat it.
I'd recommend any this to anyone who wants a clean, wholesome meal with good vibes and fantastic service

My partner and I found this place after not being served at another restaurant. I'm so glad that happened as we would have never found CHOP! The bartender was kind and very helpful. Our meal was beyond delicious, the drinks, expertly made and the dessert, amazing. This was our last meal on our honeymoon in Providence, RI. We wanted a special meal and CHOP delivered! We both agreed to come to this restaurant again should we ever find ourselves in Providence! Thank you CHOP, you made our night very special!!

The Brussels sprouts were incredible. The short rib was really good thanks to the nice pop of acid from the peppers on top. Really good.

My fiancé and I tried CHOP dinner during their Thursday date night special and had a lovely time (and you can’t beat the deal)! We both got the scallops with risotto and it was delicious. There were lots of gluten free options and the menu was very well labeled. We sat at the bar with Janellie who was just amazing. She made us a fantastic cocktail and was incredibly attentive and kind. The actual restaurant had an incredible ambiance and was super comfortable. We are looking forward to coming back to try more drinks and dishes!
