Awful!! Major disappointment for my birthday

After probably the worst experience possible at another restaurant that evening (no food, no service), Venda saved the night! We sat outside in a very cool setting. Our wait staff was quick, friendly and attentive. Most importantly the food was excellent. Thank you Venda for saving our night!

We waited for an hour and a half, but the dishes we ordered never came. The owner’s attitude was also terrible. We will never come to this restaurant again.

This will always be a favorite for taking out of town guests - try for an outdoor spot if you can. It’s truly special in the warm months. You can’t go wrong with the cavatelli, ragu, and the tiramisu. The only note is be prepared for a wait at times (Saturday nights are packed) and potentially brusque or forgetful staff. It’s truly impressive how they manage such a large operation, we just had some issues with our server the last visit.

Went there for a birthday dinner. Started off with the waitress not being able to open the bottle of wine and some of it dripped down her hands onto the table. The app was good, it was a burrata with prosciutto and tomato but we had to ask two people for balsamic before it came over. We ordered dinner one came out wrong and took a long time to be fixed. We asked for cheese and it took forever as well. We were finished eating and my mom's meal was still not out and the waitress was nowhere to be found. The busboy poured water onto my dad's shorts when refilling water glasses. Asked to speak with a manager, she apologized and stated she would comp the one dinner and send over 3 complimentary desserts. The waitress came back and chose the desserts for us except one due to a gluten allergy, when this was for a birthday dinner. When we received the bill the desserts were still on it. Wrote in the reservations it was a birthday they did not acknowledge it. The service was very poor. I would not come back here.

One of my favorite spots on the hill for dinner and entertainment. The food is amazing with an immense patio. Live singing in the summertime with a giant fountain in the background. Bring your family and friends to enjoy.

This night out was a first date for myself and the individual I was with. I chose Venda because she was Italian and grew up in a restaurant family. I needed the best Italian in Providence. Excellent as expected. Kudos to the valet guys. Very friendly, informative, super efficient and overall above expectations.

Excellent experience! Terrific atmosphere, food and service. (Although the croutons in the Caesar Salad weren't homemade and the salad was too lightly dressed). Authentic Italian bread! The music was great but a bit too loud making table conversation challenging. Definitely will come again!

Incredible homemade pasta, authentic Italian. Great vibes sitting in the courtyard and with live music. Couldn't ask for a better Saturday night!

Disappointed, to say the least. My girlfriend and I were recommended this spot by 2 different people, and I wish we hadn’t listened. Long review incoming.

First off- I made reservations for later in the evening (730) specifically for the restaurant seating area, and when we arrived the hosts, who were all 3 turned away from the deck talking, asked where we’d like to sit- indoor or outdoor. Why put in a reservation where we’re choosing our seating if you’re just going to ignore it? We said indoor and the hostess assigned to us asked high top or low top. We said low top and she said “we’ll see if that’s possible.” Again- why ask. We walked to dining room area which again we had made reservations for, only to find it was completely full. Okay, great. She then brings us to the bar area and sat us at a dirty high top which she barely wiped off before walking away. The bar area was crowded and has full open windows directly facing the busy street and they had someone DJ’ing for the outdoor seating area which was incredibly loud so it was very difficult to have a conversation. Bathrooms were filthy in this area as well. The atmosphere was more akin to a dive bar that happens to also serve food.

Second off- our server was a ghost all night. We had to flag him down after the food was put in to bring us silverware. We saw him maybe 2 times after that. I wanted to order more drinks but by the time he checked back in on us the meal was pretty much over and we just wanted to leave because the noise between the blasting music and the street traffic was getting way too much for us. Server was at least pleasant.

Finally- the food. The food was just OK. After hearing so much about how fantastic the homemade pasta was, and seeing reviews about the Cannelloni, I was sure that this would be the saving grace for the night. The restaurant is a bust, but hopefully the food is worth it. The cannelloni had barely any sauce on it and was otherwise forgettable. My girlfriend got the Rotelloni which was good so at least she enjoyed her meal.

All in all- I wouldn’t be back. We went on a walk after the fact and kept seeing small, quiet, quaint restaurants serving similar fare with beautiful ambiance and the thing we kept repeating was “I wish we’d gone there instead”.

Disappointed, veal picatta had to be sent back after a couple of bites. I was kept up with a stomachache last night that has not fully gone away and I don't think I will be able to eat lunch without vomiting. The meat was spoiled and tasted bad. When I mentioned that I needed to send it back the waitress tried to blame me, saying that nobody else was complaining and it is the same meat they are serving everyone. I wish that I didn't feel so sick! I asked for calamari instead. That was not spoiled, but Greg's, and Macera's serves much better calamari. It tasted like it had sat around for a while and had gotten soggy. Macera's is also better all around for the chicken marsala too.

Don't go!

First - I have never written a review like this before. I usually attribute things to just a bad night. but this was such a disappointment. We are regular customers at Venda's (the grocery) and love it, so we thought we'd try their restaurant - Constantino's. The pros: our food was good, not great - but good. And our waiter was good, again not great, but good. The only great was the young man who took care of our table in general, water, bread, served our meals, etc. He was delightful. The cons: The hostesses were dismissive at best, and rude at worse. We had reservations and when we arrived (4:50) there were very few tables outside that had been seated. When they brought us to our table (as far away from the fountain as was possible) we asked if we could sit nearer the fountain. The hostess said "my boss said you have to sit here." I told them that I at least needed to sit in the shade (I have a skin condition that doesn't allow me to sit in the sun) - so they moved us to a partially shaded table right next to hostess stand and entrance. Pretty much the worst seat in the house. Not only that - but within a half hour, I was again in the sun. We should have insisted on speaking to a manager, but the attitude we'd received thus far didn't make it feel like it would make a difference. Did I mention it was our anniversary? Very disappointing.

Mediocre food. Veal not fresh, sauces were bland. Nothing special here.

Chris and Tyler were beyond phenomenal! Chris was very helpful and knowledgeable on recommending dishes, as well as his personal favorites. Tyler was super helpful! I absolutely hope the best for them, they deserve so much. Cannot wait to see them again when we visit!
