The part of me that wants everyone to feel what it's like eat at your nonna's house where they think you are the greatest thing that ever happened, triumphed over the part of me that wants to keep this place a secret so there isn't a line out the door every day. Giovanna clearly knew what she thought each of us should eat but tried hard to not let it show "but, eat what you want...." She was excited in the way only a Napolitana can be when we chose her recommendations, osso bucco for Mike and lobster raviolo for me. It was amazing food wrapped in a childhood memory.

Amazing meal! Armando and his staff are so friendly and attentive. The food is even better. Small, charming and quiet atmosphere. Cannot wait to go back and try their Brunch menu. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is a true experience. The quality of the ingredients and the quality of the service is unlike any other. Whether it’s a casual dinner or a wine tasting, they have a way of making it special. I couldn’t recommend Dolce & Salato more.

WOW!
You will not be disappointed by this restaurant. We went for dinner because we received a gift card. I got the prime rib ravioli and my husband got the osso bucco, both were fantastic it was hard not to finish the whole plate. Armando sat with us and explained the menu and chose wine pairings for us from his imported wines based on our preferences. Many family recipes on the menu, it feels like such a personal experience. Can’t recommend it enough!

Buon Natale! A taste of Italy in Providence. I have been around for a bit and have never had such a wonderful dining experience as I did last night on Christmas Eve at Dolce & Salato. From the warm welcome to the fond farewell Chef Amando and family made you feel as you were an honor guest in their home. I could go on about every course of the 5 courses perfectly wine paired, unless partake in this personalize meal there are no words to describe what your taste buds savoring. In closing, now retired from hospitality I was once told by a Chef long ago, If I as a chef is requested to greet a table, it is only proper that I touch every table, so everyone feels welcomed. Chef Amando and family raised the bar last night. Merry Christmas Chef Amando and family and the team of Dolce & Salato a Happy New Year.

Our meals were delicious and beautifully prepared. A friend got the Feast of the Seven Fishes special, artfully prepared and presented. Another friend had the fish special, which she said was very tasty. My pasta dish, amatriciana, was mouth watering. Service was excellent, friendly atmosphere and beautifully prepared surroundings. Recommended!

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. I'm so glad I did. Everything was delicious. We went for dinner. I cannot wait to return and try the brunch. The mushroom cream sauce with the ravioli was to die for.

Many restaurants promise a special dining experience but don't fulfill that promise. Dolce & Salato does. It is a truly unique and wonderful dining experience. The food is amazing!! And Armando is so engaging. It is a small restaurant that allows Armando to interact with his customers and treat them like family. We took a friend there for her birthday. She is quite an oenophile. So when Armando said that there was no wine list; that once you told him what you liked he would choose a wine for you, I was a little concerned. To my surprise she loved what he chose!! So much so that she bought two bottles of wine as Christmas gifts before we left. My friend said the Cacio e Pepe was the best she had ever had. My eggplant parmigiana was also the best I had ever had. The sauce tasted so fresh and homemade. Unlike any sauce at most restaurants. This my sound like hyperbole, but it is the simple truth. Dine there and see for yourself!

It truly pains me to write these words, as I always hope to share encouragement and praise rather than criticism. I am a firm believer in the saying, “If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all,” but in this case, I feel compelled to share my experience in hopes that it might help Dolce and Salato thrive in the future.
Last night, our party of four arrived with genuine excitement to discover your restaurant for the first time. We all enjoy supporting new places and were delighted at the prospect of a fresh culinary adventure. Sadly, as the evening unfolded, that excitement gave way to disappointment.
We began with the appetizers—an area where we rarely have cause for concern. The calamari, a signature Rhode Island specialty, was unfortunately quite chewy. The zucchini flower reminded me more of fried mozzarella, and I share this only in hopes that it provides helpful feedback.
Our table, admittedly composed of people with fairly discerning palates, yet always seeking to be gracious and fair, encountered further difficulties. The fish was so off that it had to be sent back, and one guest’s lasagna arrived partially cold. As for my own entrée—the veal, which was the most expensive dish on the menu—it was served on a bed of salad, lots of salad. My first bite was quite chewy, which left me hesitant and, after several careful bites, unable to continue my meal.
I want to emphasize that our goal was not to seek compensation, and while the server kindly removed the fish from our bill, our main wish is for Dolce and Salato to succeed. I sincerely hope these unfortunate missteps are merely growing pains, and that prompt attention will bring the quality of the experience up to match their expectations.
Though this wasn’t the best meal I’ve had, I genuinely wish Dolce and Salato well, and hope they address these issues soon—otherwise, I fear their wonderful potential may not be reached.
