Great for a quick grab and go! The place was very nice and the server was nice. They had a good selection of coffee, food and pastries. I liked the croissant! The food portion was small but filling.

Lovely little café me and my friends found while we were looking to pass some time. Was greeted immediately with a smile and a menu. The atmosphere was relaxed. Ordered myself the cinnamon roll (which was amazing) and an earl grey French 75. Can't wait to come back here!

I visited this cafe three days in a row during my trip to Providence, RI, with my husband. We enjoyed a variety of pastries and savory dishes. The avocado toast was unique — they blend the avocado into a smooth purée, which isn't my personal preference (I prefer a chunkier texture). Nevertheless, everything else we tried was excellent. The pastries were particularly memorable, and I especially loved the rosemary cookie — a must-try! We also enjoyed their cappuccinos and matcha lattes. The staff was friendly and welcoming, creating a positive atmosphere. We visited around 11 AM several times, which was their busy period. There was a fairly long line, but it was worth the wait. The space itself is lovely — plenty of seating and a bright, inviting environment. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely return next time we're in Providence!
Love this place and their pastries

Great food and coffee. Slight confusion over where we got the coffee from was the reason for 3stars on service.

Love Ellie's!! I typically get a breakfast sandwich on a croissant & a chai latte. It's filling and delicious. The vibes are classy & comfortable. It's a popular spot so finding a table in peak hours can be a bit challenging, but worth the wait

An equally frustrating lack of urgency after a couple of visits. At peak lunch time, a line of several customers will develop, with just one person taking orders behind the counter. Meanwhile, several other employees stand behind the counter aimlessly—maybe restocking straws or chatting with each other. Zero urgency. The food is good, but please open the second POS terminal

Food was excellent! Service is always exceptional; everyone is so friendly and hospitable. Love the colors and vibes, so pretty and summery. Not too many lunch options, but the ones I’ve had are delicious. Portions are a bit on the small side, especially being more expensive. Overall, wonderful experience!

Stopped in with my parents and brother who were all in town visiting. We got a warm greeting, could see the bakers at work, enjoyed the good mood tunes, and had a complete breakfast with coffee. They had gluten free options for substitutions, which we liked. The interior was clean and there was plenty of seating with nice decor. Overall, we would come back.

Ellie’s isn’t just a café — it’s a sanctuary. From the moment I walk in, I’m greeted with warm smiles from the wonderful staff. Their croissants are flaky, buttery perfection, and the cappuccino is just the right comfort in a cup.
What makes Ellie’s extra special is the balance they create: friendly and welcoming, yet they also give me the space to sit quietly, watch the world go by, and simply be with my thoughts. I can linger as long as I want without feeling rushed, which is a rare and precious gift.
If you’re looking for a place that feels like a gentle hug for your soul, Ellie’s is it.

I attended the macaron class. The instructor, Mikaela, was absolutely phenomenal! She went at a great pace, was clear with instructions and very knowledgeable. The instructor really can make or break a baking class, so I was so incredibly grateful. Ellie’s was a beautiful, clean atmosphere. The class was not overcrowded and they provided a drink and snacks which was a nice touch. I would highly recommend a class here and I hope to take another soon.

We were visiting Providence for the first time and we wanted an amazing cup of coffee with something delicious boy were we surprised when we walked in and we found out that they made their own classic croissants and amazing pastries along with macaroons the coffee choices are great. The seating is great. It’s a great place to hang out and socialize and work and very comforting. The staff is outstanding. Helen is amazing, Avery is a champion.
