Terrible experience today. June 8th I walk in with a friend from town claiming Ellie’s has the best sandwiches in all RI all excited I order one to go- I wait 30 MINUTES. Still nothing, I go up to kindly ask about the delay so the staff says let me go check in on that order I get a simple nod and ask for my receipt. 5 minutes pass and I ask again and the same staff skinny Caucasian male teenager with glasses and a bandana says oh someone is checking in on that- as I’ve been monitoring the whole situation for 5 minutes seeing him continue about his day like I didn’t ask him this (he stayed right by the coffee station talking to a colleague) At this point my patience is thin and I ask to cancel the order after 40 WHOLE MINUTES. Not even a sorry but instead he says. Ok I’ll cancel that order you can leave. I expressed no anger no hostility just composure. I wouldn’t have had an issue if some sympathy was given but damn terrible staff and sadly wouldn’t ever know if this place has great food. Just do yourselves a favor and go to small point cafe next door - where they took 10 minutes in total to get me a coffee sandwich and donut. 0/10 for Ellie’s if I could.
Had a great flat white here. The breakfast sandwich was good; I didn’t request any add-ons and if you’re looking for a bit more flavor, I’d definitely recommend adding something like avocado and greens. Don’t get anxious if your coffee is ready 10 mins before your food, the staff didn’t forget your food, the breakfast sandwiches just take a bit of time to prep. I’m looking forward to coming back here
I wish I could give Ellie’s TEN stars!! First of all, our server (Helen) was phenomenal! Our group absolutely adored her and she made excellent recommendations and made us feel completely comfortable and welcomed. We shared several pastries, and bought more to go on our way out. Our group had a mix of breakfast items and lunch sandwiches and we were all satisfied. Drinks were great - lattes, drip coffee, mimosas, etc. It was the perfect spot for our group! Beautiful and bright atmosphere, semi-private room for our group in the back, and the staff was very friendly. I saw a couple of negative reviews below, and based on our experience, I just can’t imagine leaving anything less than five stars! 10/10 experience and we will definitely be back.
My niece and I came to try the matcha latte and she got herself a chocolate croissant. I have a gluten allergy, so there weren't any options I felt comfortable eating. But I really appreciated that the barista cleaned all the equipment before making my latte. My niece really enjoyed her chocolate croissant, it looked magnificent. The vibes were also immaculate, it really felt like a European cafe. We'll be back!
Was a great cafe. Great selection of goods too

Chicken salad sandwich was good but underwhelming, especially for the price. I recommend getting something else. Atmosphere is loud but very cute and well decorated. Service was great

Had a great experience here. The service from Elaine? Was wonderful. She was very attentive and cordial. I figured she must own the place because she was so endearing, but she said that was simply the way she had been trained. Love that.

I visited on a work/leisure trip and had read about this shop in barista magazine and I’m soooo glad I stopped. The oat cappuccino was delicious and beautiful. I highly recommend the chicken salad sandwich or lentil bowl for lunch! I didn’t get to have any pastries but have no doubt they’re just as good. Wish I had more time to stay longer because it was just great! The staff is sweet and have great anticipatory service skills. You can tell these folks know what they’re doing!

The food and the atmosphere were wonderful. But what I'm writing about is the service. I left my jacekt behind and was already far away when I realized it and called the restaurant. They found my jacket and agreed to mail it to me, but would not think of letting me pay for the postage. They just thanked me for dining with them. I live on a small island in Maine and I'm used to that kind of consideration from my neighbors, but what a delightful surprise to find it in the middle of a city!

We hired Elli's for my daughters wedding cake. It was beautiful & delicious. They provided two different cakes. One was dark chocolate cake with blackberry jam & mocha buttercream as the sheet cakes out back, and the presentation cake was 4 tiers with lemon cake, blackberry jam, and honey buttercream. Both cakes were delicious. You will not be disappointed!
