We visited Hemenway’s as a friends reunion on a weeknight. Table overlooking the water and Brown campus was breathtaking. Service was beyond expectations. So many fine choices on the creative menu it was hard to decide. Caviar appetizer with all the expected side delicacies was special. But served with the innovative mini waffles, well now you’re talking! Those little pockets are perfect for holding the delicious house branded caviar and the fine egg, shallot and creme fraiche toppings. Picture of a good Chard we paired with the caviar.

Always phenomenal at Hemenways. Crab cake appetizer always fresh and succulent. Perfect balance of sayce and crab. Tuna salad and paella were outstanding! Maria did a great job of service. Newport Restaurant Group is outstanding! Rhode Island owned and employee owned!

Had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Hemenway's. Our table was decorated with rose petals when we arrived, a nice touch! Our server, Danny, went out of his way to make our dinner special-made excellent suggestions for both food and wine, and everything was delicious. Started with martinis (excellent) and a dozen oysters (from four local sources) that were the best. Hubby had Karen Elizabeth Sea Scallops and I had the Yellowfin Tuna-- both delicious! Staff was outstanding from the minute we walked in the door- hostess, manager, servers, all very friendly, polite, warm, inviting. Beautiful restaurant; our table had a water view. It was a great fine dining experience, highly recommend!

Hemenway’s is arguably the best seafood restaurant in the Providence area. I’ve lived in the immediate Providence area my whole life, and while, of course I visit other restaurants, Hemenway’s in my opinion is the best. For the quality of the food, the prices are very reasonable The host station…they are so kind, polite, and caring! I often come in with my six-year-old and they couldn’t be kinder to her! We came in last night, thank you for being so good to my little girl! It’s genuine kindness ❤️And the wait staff is exceptional! And of course, the behind-the-scenes people, the kitchen staff-they know what they’re doing! If you are a fan of New England clam chowder, it’s the best. I’ve never had better! Thanks for the all-around exceptional experience always!
We had a great experience at Hemenway’s last evening. The host stand was warm, friendly, and very accommodating, which set the tone for the night. Our server was knowledgeable, efficient, and handled the flow of the meal without unnecessary interruptions.
The food was excellent across the board. The tuna was a standout, but every dish we ordered was delicious. The ambiance made the night feel relaxed and special.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Such a pleasure to return to Hemenways, I was a part of the opening management team!! Our greeting was warm and engaging. The bar staff was attentive. Victoria gave wonderful service and the baked Alaska was a hit. Fabulous baked oysters, calamari and shrimp. We will be back!! Natalie Jamestown
