Feeling really misled by the positive reviews. Terribly slow & inefficient… we were the only ones there for an early lunch, waited 20+ min for mediocre sandwiches. It Would’ve been as good or better, quicker, less expensive etc to make at home. Really basic & ingredients were missing from my order that were listed on the menu description, & Didn’t seem fresh. I was trying to make sense of the annoying slowness with 3 staff there but only 1 to go order was picked up while we were waiting so idk. No sense of urgency, ppl just moving at sloth pace. Also off putting to see the cook wearing bright pink thong rising completely out of her pants seemingly on purpose- odd fashion statement for a kitchen environment lol. Place looks generally dingy & questionable on hygiene. Very little seating. Def Disappointing to spend $25 here.

Waited over 30 minuets for a burnt mess of egg sandwich. Absurd.
What frustrates me the most is that I tipped them for this. I tip every single time I come in. The purpose of a tip is to ensure good service. How is that I am paying you money on top of my order "for good service" and you cant even be bothered to check what your wrapping up. That is so rediculous.
I won't be comeing back.

Menu is good, the food is good however the employees need more training with people skills seems like a bunch of clueless kids. There was one black woman who was friendly she should have been cashier because the cashier looked at me confused about questions I was asking and my order was messed up? A lesson on hygiene would also benefit this business I saw one of them wipe their nose while they were cooking.

I'm a contractor that was working around block and didn't want to drive some where so found this hole in the wall place. I got my food in maybe 7minutes, walked back to job site and ate but it was so good I had 5o walk back over to tell them how good it was

The staff was very patient and friendly. A+ The atmosphere is lacking (think old world butcher shop) - but it's very nostalgic for me as I grew up in the neighborhood eating from here since the 80's. I've visited through it's many owners and iterations. This most recent visit I ordered an adorably named 'Armory' (pastrami sandwich) and a water - $13.37. The sandwich was a modest size compared to the girthy giants of yesteryear, but that was not the problem. It was literally the saltiest food I've ever eaten. It was so salty in fact that it almost burned. I kept eating because 1) I already paid for it and left; and 2) I really wanted to like it. I kept hoping maybe it's just a bad section. I had one bite of pastrami at the end that was fine. I think maybe because it didn't have any sauce on it. Great memories of great sandwiches over the years but I think my last time here is my last time here. If you do go here and try something, my advice - avoid the Armory. As for me, once bitten, twice shy. :(

Brian the owner was so friendly! The food was delicious, and they were very accommodating to a vegan gluten free diet.

Got a sandwich from here the first time a while ago… took me forever to find out where it was but I drove by today and had an instant flashback to the sandwich I had. I stopped and got the same thing I did and it was just as amazing as the first!!! HIGHLY recommend

Usually decent service. Today she nearly didn't hand me my order until I confirmed I received it . I always confirm for every store. This woman took one look at me and judged me as a thief/scammer . The way she held my food back until I motioned my phone was a turn off.I really liked the The George wrap.., but I won't be going back for a long while.
