Food was not that appealing. I got The Little TLC, and my eggs were cold and the potatoes were very dry, , cold, and no flavor. The rest of the table ordered chicken waffles. Waffles looked dry as hell. The service was nice though, maybe it was an off day with the food :(. The bathroom was dirty, and smelled like piss.

Horrible wait time, 2 hours to wait for our food. The drinks we ordered did not even come after the 2 hour wait, only thing we got for waiting that long was a small piece of cornbread. This is not the first time they messed up my order as well. Would not recommend. Find someplace else on this street to eat

I ordered the Catfish Mac and Greens, I was quite pleased! The greens were different than I’m used to they had a touch of sweetness that paired well with the heat! I absolutely love how they used Turkey vs Pork for the meat. The cat fish was so delicious and moist. The mac was almost like Grandma made it. It really was a delicious nostalgic meal. I must go back for the yams and salmon sliders!

I stopped by here for lunch recently. It was tasty, but service was a bit slow, which was frustrating given we just got salads, and had to get back to work. I would definitely come back because it was delicious, just not when I’m in a hurry.

The cornbread and mac and cheese were amazing. The meal was okay. The fries were really good. During Providence Music Festival, they seemed to have a slightly limited menu which is why we went back a different day to get food.
Due to the nature of the seating, I felt like I was blinded by the sun designed by aliens who don't have eyes.

This place was awful. Fired Chicken was not edible... hardly cooked hardly fried and low quality meat. Cornbread was a joke and the grits were oily. Even if the food was free i wouldnt eat it.

I recently visited Kin in Providence and had a mixed experience. On the plus side, the service from Asia was fantastic—she was incredibly helpful. The atmosphere was also a highlight, with a nice, aesthetically pleasing vibe that made the space feel comfortable and inviting.
However, the food and drink left much to be desired. The drink menu sounded promising, but what was actually served didn’t match the liquors listed, which was disappointing. A simple reprint of the menu could’ve avoided this issue.
As for the food... well, it was a letdown. It was surprisingly bland—I'm not sure if they ran out of seasonings, but even adding extra salt and pepper didn’t help. I struggled to finish my meal and ultimately couldn't.
Overall, I would be cautious if you're going for the food. While the service and atmosphere were great, the food and drink fell short. I hope they work on improving the flavor and consistency in the kitchen.

Southern(ish) food devoid of all the charm and soulfulness that you would expect.
Food is good, if generic. Drinks are fine. Ambiance is pretentious. If you are a big fan of southern food and culture, you will be disappointed, aside from that it is okay.

The chicken and waffles were absolutely amazing. The chicken came as fried chicken wings and they were so juicy, perfectly breaded, with a light and airy crisp. As I was eating them I was thinking about how I wish I could also order the wings. But the serving size was plenty. Waffles were of perfect consistency and rich flavor, I found myself already crushing them with an entire chicken wing left to go. My wife also found the hot sauce to be the best she ever had and we got a bottle to go. We eat at a lot of restaurants and never bother to leave a review most of the time but this place is special. So dank. Thanks

I’ve been to Kins in-person MULTIPLE times. I’ve gotten to meet the owner as well and she truly loves her restaurant and share her love for cooking. However, that does not change the fact that tonight when I ordered my food for delivery, I did not get what I expected. I ordered pulled pork sliders without coleslaw. Instead I got something that almost looks like Ox-Tails and tomatoes.
Kins is typically reasonably price for the amount of food you receive in this case I barely got anything but bread. It was almost like they were trying to make up for the lack of “pulled pork” but adding them. I have had their pulled pork sliders recently and there were nothing like this. I also remember that one time in-restaurant they had them with these wonderful thick slices of bacon (those were heavenly)
However this is one time experience via delivery. If I were to recommend anything it would be their fried chicken, Mac and cheese, candied yams and beignets. The beignets are so fluffy and warm. The fired chicken is juicy and crunchy, and the Mac and cheese (the last time I had it) was immaculate. The candied yams are SWEET, If you do not have a sweet tooth tread light by they are so good!
The servers have always been amazing and kind. The bartender is always on point and if you ever need a drink recommendation you can never go wrong with a Black Girl Magic (EDIBLE GLITTER). It’s such a pretty drink.
I truly hope this is a one time thing, this is one of my favorite spots in Rhode Island. I know everyone can have off nights and I hope this is just one of them.
