Little Sister is an absolute standout from start to finish. Having a little piece of Puerto Rico on the East Side of Providence is such a blessing! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warmth that reminds me of my Latino roots. The food was DELICIOSO. The Mofongo Benedict is my favorite, the pernil takes me back to growing up with my cousin who is half Puertorrican, and her mom would cook for us. It’s perfectly seasoned! Y el cafecito?! Top tier. As a Colombiana myself, coffee is something you just don’t skimp on, and Little Sister delivers.
This restaurant feels like an extension of home, and I love how Milena, the owner, just beams with pride having the opportunity to share a little piece of her home, La Isla del Encanto.
If you love to support local or looking to experience Puertorrican cuisine for the first time, this is the place to go. ¡Super recomendado!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was my first visit to Little Sister, and it definitely won’t be the last! A five-star experience from beginning to end. Delicious Puerto Rican specialties reimagined for brunch, amazing service (shout out to Andraea!), and a cool vibe. As a vegetarian, I was delighted to see many veggie-friendly 🌱 dishes on the menu! I had the Mofongo Benedict (with eggs poached well, by request), a guava quesito pastry, and the passion fruit punch. 😍 My tastebuds are still thanking me!
TIP: If you want to guarantee a seat, make sure to make a reservation ahead of time. It gets pretty busy, and trust me, you do not want to miss out on this delicious food!

My husband and I visited Little Sister today for my birthday weekend breakfast and ended up creating a new memory. The atmosphere was delightful and the homemade food scrumptious! I am the Little Sister myself in my family so the name was fitting. Thank you for a wonderful start to our day!

Food is meh for price point. For such a small place, service has a hard time keeping up

Incredible! The best Puerto Rican food I’ve had. We sat at the bar as a family and got the shakshuka, Dulce de leche French toast, mofongo, chicken chile verde empanada, and beef picadillo empanada. I got a coffee and my husband got a sherry cocktail. Every single thing was impeccable. The service was thoughtful and cheerful, and the decor is beautiful. We will be back at the first opportunity!

I’m updating my review after calling the restaurant to resolve an issue, and unfortunately, the experience only got worse.
During my visit, the service was already disappointing, our server was inflexible and said we could only order once, including drinks. We had a 1:30 PM reservation and were never told the restaurant was closing soon, which left us feeling unwelcome and pressured to finish quickly. Because of the poor service, I only left a 10% tip.
However, I later discovered they charged me 20% tip, which is not what I signed for. When I called to ask why, I explained calmly that I just wanted clarification and a correction. Instead of helping, the staff became combative and unprofessional. The person I spoke with first denied my experience entirely and insisted things had happened differently. When I asked to speak with a manager, she claimed to be the owner and said she was the “top dog,” speaking in a rude and dismissive tone.
At that point, I asked for the tip to be removed completely, as this was completely unacceptable behavior. All I wanted was a clear explanation and a correction of the overcharge, not to be treated disrespectfully.
This was one of the most unprofessional restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. Between the rushed service, the incorrect charge, and the rude response when I tried to resolve it, I unfortunately cannot recommend this place.
