I am from MA lived near Boston and there were several better places. Since I made the huge mistake of moving to the west Virginia of New England options are limited. This place is not bad I tried three different desserts and none blew me away. The Paris place on Federal Hill is better. The three stars is compared to all the places I have tried in RI maybe a 4

I come to Madrid a lot. It’s a great spot to study and get some nice drinks and deserts. Today, while waiting in line to order, I asked the guy in front of me if he needed more time since he was holding the line back. I thought he said to go in front of him, and when I did, he claimed that I cut him, so I let him go in front of me. When I finally got to order, the black female employee reprimanded me: “Just so you know, the line starts over there.” I tried to explain but of course that “didn’t matter, the line starts over there.” Yikes! Average regular didn’t know how to wait in lines I guess.

From the minute you walk in to minute to leave you are very impressed with the food in the display cabinets and the service is very accommodating.

Delicious eclairs! Wonderful place for an afternoon cafe stop. They have coffee from New Harvest, with a simple menu and good execution. Everything came out fast. We got a table outside and had a really lovely time. I will be back to pick up a bag of coffee when I'm running low at home!

Kid-friendliness: Large clean restroom. Ample indoor and outdoor seating. Delicious sweets.

I love Madrid! They have amazing pastries and cakes and delicious coffees. When the weather is nice, they pull the doors open and it's so wonderful to just hang out at Wayland Square.

Overall, my experience this morning was mixed. While the croissants were delicious and fresh, the presence of gigantic flies flying around them was quite off-putting. The prices were also a bit on the higher side, and the staff could have been more attentive.

Absolutely amazing cannolis, filled to order. All of the other pastries are also superb.

This bakery is elegantly European! It is a most welcomed presence on the East Side.
Because Vienna Bakery had been my favorite, but with bridge issues, I am not going there. I am coming here!
