Spotted this place and the signage and vibes bewitched me into coming in. The build-your-own bowl was great, and they charge a flat price for it. (Lesson learned, next time I’m filling my bowl up to the brim.) Ooh right, the rice is free too. We got one, but you can get free rice per each bowl. So worth your money! The veggies and stuff there are pretty fresh, and the noodles (no matter what kind you choose) are all so chewy! It did take a little while for my bowl to arrive, but the wait was definitely worth it since the soup was warm and comforting. Service is very nice, and the background music is relaxing. Stop by here and give this place a try!

this is genuinely one of the best dry pot ive ever had.. and i am saying this as someone who is visiting providence from nyc and eats dry pot very often in flushing. i have gotten dry pot twice in the past 4 days of being in providence 😂 that’s how good it is. this place is more worth if you go in person and choose your toppings (it’s a flat fee, NOT based on weight). i get level 2 spicy and it’s pretty standard mala spicy. it’s a little pricey for a student’s budget (comes out to ~$20) but it’s technically a good deal cus it’s not based on weight (which can go upwards of $30 usually)
im honestly just posting this review because this place has pretty low overall ratings but most of the lower ratings seem to be from people who don’t/can’t eat mala, so disclaimer!! the flavor is genuine and good!!!

Completely over priced, the services are of no help, and the vibe was just not there, when I walked it I intended to stay for long because I had a flight and a few hours and this was gonna be my last meal in Rl so I walk in no body is there to take my order, and I planed to order a meal provided on the menu but was forced to do an pick your own, so I'm picking what I think is good with no help mind you but I finish and bring it up. My jaw dropped and my wallet was crying real tears when she told me the price but I can't just touch all this food and not pay so yah. When I got my food, there's was like no salt at alllll, the crab was literally the cheapest thing I have ever ate, the meat was not that good, and this might be my fault but the glass noodles were not hitting. This is one of the only places I literally can't defend, likes it's not an awful unauthentic place cause it kinda seemed authentic to me, but for that price and the food that was provided is just not worth it to me

Excellent and authentic mala. The jajang has lots of fish balls, mushrooms, and other vegetables in a delicious sauce. Very tingly but not too spicy. The one hand pancake was godly. Will be back to sample other menu items. A++

My daughter and I eat here at least one Saturday a month. We get the ramen and katsu chicken every time. We joke that the broth is heated with lava rocks because the Ramen is scolding hot for the entire meal. One of our favorite places on college hill.

Tryed it out yesterday with a friend. We liked the build your own bowl, ordered level 3 spice with the soup, it was spot on. Going to try level 4 next time.

Awesome Broth and can really load bowl(no extra cost) with all sorts of vegetable and meat toppings.
Wheelchair accessibility: I came in with my wheelchair and was not treated with respect when ordering my noodles. I will never return with my wheelchair.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times and can confidently say it’s the yummiest Chinese restaurant in Providence by far! I got to-to with my girlfriend. The portions for one order were more than enough for both us. Not to mention, they gave us two free Cokes!
Do be warned to get spice level 2 or lower if you don’t have much spice tolerance

DANGEROUS RESTAURANT! I went with some friends, I informed the cashier and cook of my seafood allergy multiple times and confirmed with them at the end that there was no seafood. When opening my meal I found that they mixed it with my friends meal which contained LOTS of seafood. If I didn't eat with my friend and realize what happened I would have gone into anaphylactic shock and possibly die. When I told them they couldn't care less, they never even apologized for giving me a meal that would kill me. Staff was rude and unfriendly, an apology would've made a big difference but they clearly don't care about allergies or their customers.

I miss the Malatang options in China. The taste is quite authentic.

Food tastes alright but the portions are relatively small. Don’t get spice levels 3 and 4 if you can’t tolerate spicy food.

My son wanted Ramen so we went to Mala. He loved it. Then again, he’s 10, his standards aren’t as high as mine. Would I spend another $45 on these? No. Honestly it was kind of flavorless and disappointing. The fried rice was good, not great, but overall a solid fried rice. Not overly salty. All the ingredients on the line to choose from were from frozen bags (I know because I saw the freezer)
