McCormick & Schmick's is an upscale restaurant that serves sensational food. From the drinks to the dessert, all the food is well-cooked and presented lovely.

I see negative reviews. I'm sorry about that. I really am.k experience nothing but the best here. Especially during happy hour dude.you get a full size burger and fries for $5. Drinks are a bit pricey, but the amostsphere and bar food is great. I been going here for years . Just for happy hours food an happy hour drinks

It was absolutely great, it never fails with food or service. Juliette our server was patient, helpful and just overall great. Wasn't first time there and will be going back.

Guys come to Providence and EAT HERE. Bring a special lady and spend a few dimes on her. I guarantee she'll remember you for this incredible establishment. Eat the Steak. Eat the Seafood. Come with a credit card just in case.

Food was very good. The wait in between courses was terrible. The male manager was extremely unprofessional. The other manager, who was a young woman, was working harder than anyone else in the place. A trash barrel was wheeled by our table, the male manager was reprimanded staff in the middle of the dining room. I actually got up to tell him that we didn't need to hear that during our meal and he was very rude. Wouldn't go back despite good food and would not recommend your restaurant. Our bill came to $250.00, and because it was New Year's Eve, I still tipped $100. The waiter was young and very nice, but I WAS surprised that he didn't acknowledge the tip which I felt was reflective of poor training.

Food was very good and arrived in good timing. However, service is lacking. Waiter brought us the wrong bottle of wine and kept disappearing. We had to have the manager cash us out after we sat for at least 15 minutes.

Horrible. After reading reviews, went here only because I had a gift card, expecting the worst and got it. Our waiter had blood on his teeth because, as he reported, he fell down on his way to work. Long waits for drinks and main course. $39 NY strip was just ok. No bread and butter, no water refills. Had a $75 gift card to defray $160 total bill for two with tip. They ran the card and said the card had not been validated, which was hogwash. Ended up handing hostess $90 in cash and walking out, leaving them to sort out THEIR corporate gift card snafu. NOT my problem. DO NOT EAT HERE. It is a trap for unknowing visitors to Providence staying at the Biltmore Hotel in which this hell hole is situated.

Celebrated for New Years there. I ordered the steak and lobster tails I.e surf and turf. I was highly disappointed in the size of the lobster tails and quality of the steak for the price. For the price. That meal was more like $30. I came home for good seafood and felt like I was robbed. The ambiance was nice. The price doesn't match the service.

The bartender (Tom) created the most amazing winter/fall beer drink ever and I'm not even a fan of pumpkin!! He gave me the Shipyard Pumpkin Ale with a cinnamon-sugar rim and IT. WAS. INCREDIBLE. And I've never been a pumpkin spice girl, just for the record. But I drank all of it. Also, his espresso martinis are delicious. Grayson (pantry cook/raw bar) made the prettiest plate of fruit and berries for my dessert- I love a light dessert, especially if I'm having a martini!

Some friends and I decided to try this place out and I've never been so disappointed. The food was average but very pricey for the serving sizes provided. The drinks were good but weak. But the reason I feel obligated to even write this review because let's be honest most people only write one if it was exceptionally good or exceptionally bad) was the service. It was by far the worst service I have ever experienced and as a former waitress and bartender I really don't have high standards. We were not greeted when we walked in by any staff and stood in the bar confused for about 5 minutes while wait and bar staff watched and walked by us. If you do disregard this review and decide to check it out for yourself DO NOT enter the establishment through the bar because the same will happen to you. We decided maybe to check out the back and see if there was another host stand, which there was where we were able to finally speak with someone regarding a reservation. Our waiter Chris was so disrespectful and from the time we were seated to the time we payed we were only checked on by him 3 times (not even exaggerating). Once to ask us drinks then once to bring us the drinks and take our order and then to bring us the bill. Did not come and make sure the food came out ok or if we wanted refills instead he sat at a table across from us chatting with some other costumers. Our food came out with a problem but we were unable to flag anyone down so just decided to brush it off. When he finally did come over it was just to bring us the check not even ask how things were. The most disrespectful part of the experience was that for some reason our server was very polite and over the top helpful to the other two tables that were in the place but couldn't give us the time of day. In conclusion nothing about this restaurant was worth the awful service

I often don't rate establishments because I like to give places the benefit of the doubt even on a bad day. That said, I have never been treated so poorly in a restaurant. My friends and I decided to check the place out for the first time, and despite the place being without exaggeration 80% empty, our server literally never visited our table except to take our order and to address our bill. We weren't very hungry so we decided to get oysters, some calamari, and some drinks. The fare was average but what really made things uncomfortable was how our waiter, Chris, could not let go that we are and looked under 30 years old. We shrugged it off thinking he was just an odd bird. We got our order in some time but the number of oysters was short. We thought that we'd let him know when he came by to check on us or fill our glasses. This NEVER happened. When we finish up, we found a way to get his attention for the bill. He returns with the bill and does not have the words to more than say "Here you go" without eye contact. He goes on to talk to his coworker in the near empty dining room and as expected we are charged for more oysters than we received. I flag him down again and he has no words. Just takes the bill and goes off to berate the kitchen staff. He comes back and without even a sorry, he drops the bill off again. This is the part that sets me off. He goes to take the bill from the table right next to us and says "THANK YOU SO MUCH! MERRY CHRISTMAS! HAPPY THANKSGIVING! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!" That sets me off. The flagrant lack of disrespect forced me to not tip for the first time in my life. I will never return and would highly recommend going somewhere else when there are so much better options in Providence.

Service was less than what you should expect for fine dining, crumbs were left all over the table and she didn't seem versed with the menu. Shrimp cocktail was hard and rubbery. I've had plenty better prime rib in supposed lesser establishments. Lobster tail side was passing to an over cooked fish special. Oysters were pleasant. Overall, not surprised last minute reservations we're easy to get when our first choices nearby were booked up.

We went here for lunch drinks. Was underwhelmed. Absolutely NO vegetarian options, no bar menu, no drink specials. So needless to say I just ordered drinks and ate somewhere else after. The bartender was bland and took her forever to bring anything or check in on us, and the place was empty. If they weren't a hotel restaurant they'd probably be out of business cause there's 100 other, better places to go.
