Incredible dining experience! We had a great time with wonderful service. Highly recommend (x1000) the charge grilled beef which was probably the best steak we've ever had. The rigatoni bolognese was also delicious - so flavorful and enjoyable. You can tell each dish is put together with care down to the tiny details of herb decor. You can see the head chef and his team cooking behind your tables and it's really neat to watch - clearly a great place that cares about what they serve. We really enjoyed our time here. Best meal in RI so far.Bread and honey butter was also a nice starter, and for dessert we tried the lemon custard and homemade coffee ice cream. The espresso martini was nicely done too.

The lobster bisque soup was fishy tasting (not in a good way) $14. The pasta was good but expensive. $21 . Redeeming virtue is the wonderful selection of whiskies. The coffee was luke warm and bitter.$5

Stellar service. Magnificent food. Well designed and comfortable dining area.An absolute must for a delicious dining experience, be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner. A rush of childhood memories came when I took my first bite of their cassoulet; absolutely delicious. My grandfather was a lifelong chef in some of the finest restaurants in Downtown Los Angeles from 1920s-1960s. Their cassoulet was an amazing replica of his. Looking forward to returning and thank you, Chef, for a heartwarming memory.

Our second date here and even better than the first amazing time. Friendly staff all around with seats at the chefs counter. Delicious raw oysters to start and then one of the best burgers, fish sandwiches, and bisques I have ever had. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked amazing and we wish we had more room to try it all. The burger and fish sandwich were both served on focaccia perfectly balanced to be light, but strong enough to hold up to the delicious sauces used on both sandwiches. The fish was seasoned and grilled perfectly as was the burger (perfect medium rare) with delicious bacon and cheddar added. The bisque was loaded with flavor. Other highlights seen leaving the kitchen (which we can only assume tasted as amazing as they looked) were the steak and eggs, breakfast sandwich, home fries and the eggs bennedict. The biscuits looked so good, we got six to go for Sunday brunch. Thank you and we can't wait to be back!

Wow. Wish I had found this sooner. Stopped for brunch on my way to the airport and Nick's did not disappoint. Hot honey chicken biscuit was absolutely delicious. Got the dressed greens as the side and they were amazing as well. It was mesmerizing to sit at the chef's bar and watch the kitchen at work. So many things on the menu I wanted to try. Perhaps I'll make it back to Rhode Island one day (preferably in, let's say, July!). Service here is top notch as well. Top 5 restaurant in the country for me.

Excellent meal. Our server recognized that we weren't in a rush (old friends catching up) and paced our meal perfectly giving us plenty of time to chat and eat. The food was delightful with little twists that made it memorable (the strawberry vinaigrette in the mignonette for the oysters, the hint of apple in the savory soup, the watermelon radishes in the salad). Highly recommend!

The reason Nick's is not receiving a better review is because it literally took 1.25 hrs for them to deliver our food. The food was delicious once we got it, and our waitress gave great service. IT WAS THE KITCHEN. We finally had to ask our waitress to go to the kitchen and get our food or we would leave. Even then, it took 5 minutes to get one plate (soup and a grill cheese), and another 5 minutes to get the other plate (Eggs Bene). It's a shame. I'd like to fully recommend Nick's. I can't. And at the very least, we should have been given a discount.

Nick's has incredibly delicious, creative, fresh dishes. Ingredients are super high quality and locally sourced. Huge interesting drink menu, both alcoholic and non. Eclectic, historic building design with multiple seating options, indoors and out. The staff is friendly, attentive, very professional, and they make sure to ask about allergies or food issues. Make a reservation if you can as it is somewhat small and very popular, so w/o one there will probably be a wait except for the bar. I have been here many times and will continue to patronize Nick's to enjoy Derek's food!!
