The food and the drinks were delicious. Our waiter Santiago was awesome and very knowledgeable. We did sit next to windows that were a bit drafty but overall our experience was good. The wife and I will definitely be backđ€đŒ

Amazing tapas place. The hummus was so good that when we ran out of pita, we ate it with a spoon.

What a warm, cozy nook of an eatery! Tasty cocktails & tapas (corn ribs & lollipop lamb chops) were truly unbelievable!! We'll be back!

Had an amazing experience at Palo. Our server, David, was excellentâattentive, friendly, and made the night even better. The food was outstanding, with truly unique dishes that blend Spanish and Middle Eastern flavors beautifully. The fish kebabs and the Kunafeh were our absolute favoritesâboth are must-tries. Canât wait to come back!

Food was delicious. After visiting Spain this summer it was excellent to have a tapas spot in the area. I thought the atmosphere was excellent. As someone whoâs seen the evolution of that space, I was delighted to be able to eat here. Prices were what Iâd expect and presentation of the food was spectacular. Cheers and huge thanks to our waiter. He was knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire experience.

The waitress succeeded in giving the most disrespectful service Iâve had in my life. Served our group of four drinks. Then returned 5 minutes later after we had done a celebratory toast and and takes my fiancĂ©s drink away stating that she could not be served due to expired license. Poorly handled. Acted like we had done something wrong - tried to force a mocktail on her and then spent the rest of meal trying to rush us. Didnât even comp the mocktail - but instead brought the manager out and raised his voice at the table. You choose to serve the drink, donât act like we were in the wrong and then get rude.

Our first visit to Providence - and for only 24 hours - but we chose wisely in finding Palo for dinner, a short walk from our hotel.
The atmosphere is in one of the cityâs oldest buildings right by the river and at the base of College Hill. Think stone walls, wood beams, candles on tables, and dimmed lighting. There was buzzy, Saturday night energy and all was good.
Service was exceptional, with a super friendly and knowledgable server - tatted and pierced and happy to work at a place where she can be herself and deliver an awesome experience to people like us. She gave great advice on how many tapas to order, things to try that we may not have considered, which gins worked best with which tonics, and made us feel warmly welcomed to Palo and to Providence.
We ate very well, starting with an excellent charcuterie board with thinly sliced meats and a nice local goat cheese, also a highly addictive fig jam. We also had patatas bravas, pan con tomate (with red and green tomato options; both were delicious but I was team green), grape leaves, and zanahorias, maybe the best plate of carrots Iâve ever had with spices and extras that made it pop. We tried the fish cheeks and they were well sauced and meaty, but a little too tough for my taste.
For cocktails, we love a good Spanish-style gin and tonic and Palo delivers the big glass, aromatic presentation, and nice variety of gins and specialty tonics from which to choose. I selected a great Japanese gin with a yuzu infused tonic and it was perfect.
We were too stuffed for dessert, but Paloâs server and kitchen treated us very well, making our first visit to Providence a memorable one.

Staff is impressive. Passionate, knowledgeable about all things food and drink. They care very deeply. Obviously trust them with my life but also trust them with my dinner.
âOkayâ tapas. Some of the sauces are a bit confusing, either too bold or unsure why itâs needed, such as the hot sauce for the fish screwer. I wouldnât regret to skip the jamĂłn and croquet if have 2nd chance.

Every single thing we tried was amazing! Our party of four had the Charcuterie board, the carrots, the eggplant, the grilled eggplant, the corn ribs, the meatballs, the grilled calamari (DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS), and the pistachio tart. Michelle, our waitress, was the cherry on top of a lovely evening!

I adore Palo and am here at least once a week. The food is delicious and I find myself missing their dishes on the days theyâre closed. The staff are wonderful and always make me feel at home despite having multiple food allergies. The atmosphere is cozy (make a reservation or be prepared to wait for a bar seat!) and the music is always fantastic. The owner is a great guy. I bring all my friends here and truly canât say enough good things. We love you guys! đ

It took 3 weeks to get in with reservations. It's worth trying the bar as first come first serve if you don't want to eat. The tapas selection was a plenty. Definitely get the octopus đ. Drinks were made to perfection. Try the Alama de Trabanco (Quinquina en Rama). Such a tasty aperitif.
After multiple times it is still amazing.
