My husband and I had dinner last night and it was marvelous! He had the Statler chicken and I the Filet Mignon which were prepared perfectly. Our waitress Brooke was attentive, professional and added to the wonderful experience with her bright, pleasant demeanor. Happy to have this gem in our neighborhood.
We are always happy here although it does tend to get noisy. Food I'd reliably good although burgers were cooked a little more than the dinners wanted and as the chicken in the cassoulet.
We started with grilled octopus and Thai dumplings. They were both fantastic! The dipping sauces for the dumplings were delicious. Then I had the crispy salmon over lentils. My boyfriend had the duck Larange. He said it was outstanding! The server was great, attentive but not over us constantly. Can't wait to go back!
Parkside has long been one of my favorite restaurants in Providence, though I hadn't visited in quite some time. Upon arrival, the valet attendant was warm and welcoming, which made for a great first impression. Unfortunately, that level of hospitality didn't carry through to the host stand. The two hosts—a young woman and a gentleman—did not greet us or offer a friendly welcome, which was disappointing and set an off tone for the evening. We had a reservation for three and were seated at a very large table near the kitchen. While I understand seating logistics can vary, the location felt a bit awkward and impersonal. Our server was attentive enough, though his tone came across as slightly sarcastic—perhaps his sense of humor—but after a long workday, I was simply hoping to be surrounded by genuinely warm and friendly energy. On a positive note, the food was excellent—fresh, hot, and full of flavor. It reminded me why Parkside had been a go-to spot in the past. The bill was in line with expectations, and I left a generous tip, though it would have been nice to receive a simple thank you in return. The only staff who acknowledged us on the way out were the bartenders, who were very kind. All in all, it was a nice dinner and the food didn't disappoint, but some aspects of the service left a lot to be desired. In an industry where hospitality is everything, a genuine greeting and warm demeanor go a long way. I hope to see some improvements in the future, as I would love to continue supporting a place that once held a special place in my regular dining rotation.
Great food and good service. Tables are very close together and the noise volume is very high. It was a full house tonight!
Absolutely phenomenal service, food, drinks, espresso martini was top 5 in my life, dollar oysters on Friday, prices were reasonable. I literally can’t wait to come back.

We had a reservation for Friday at 5 PM for dinner. The place was fairly empty, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The ambiance was nice, and the waitress was friendly. I had the crab cakes as an appetizer and coq au vin as the main course, both of which were enjoyable. The main portion was generous. They also offer valet parking, which was convenient. Overall, a solid experience.

Lovely place. Had the scallops- they were fantastic. I was worried there wasn’t enough- but by the end I discovered it was just the right amount!

This place used to be a favorite. Food is still good, but the service ruined the experience.

One of a few places open midday during the break between lunch and dinner. Stepped on and were promptly seated. Waiter was a little disorganized: had to explain a few times we wanted to share the chicken and therefore need an extra plate, as well as remind about a glass of wine.
Chicken was good, but both the Lyonnaise salad and the salad leaves that came as a side for the chicken were unwashed. Sand in the leaves - rookie chef mistake. The poached egg was direct from the fridge. Bacon was cold add well. That is one sad Lyonnaise.
Caesar salad didn't have an issue with unwashed leaves, so clearly they skipped washing particular greens.

This was not my first time at Parkside and it won’t be my last. It’s a given that I’ll have a delightful time. Last Thursday evening was no exception. My friend and I had a lovely dining experience at this charming restaurant! Joe, the owner, and Michael, our server, were beyond gracious and friendly. They went above and beyond to make for a memorable evening. My friend and I both had the coq au vin which was delicious and the serving was extremely generous. Joe treated us to dessert and coffees on the house. What an unexpected surprise! We look forward to returning to this ‘gem’ of a restaurant. See you soon Joe and Michael!

As visitors to Providence we have just had dinner at Parkside. On the Sunday of a holiday weekend the restaurant was very busy and staff were pushed to the limit. They were extremely apologetic for the late serving of our meal and offered us a free glass of wine and dessert. Michael, our attendant, was fantastic and I would recommend the restaurant to anyone wanting a great dining experience.
