The food was fabulous. The place has loads of old Providence charm with an unmistakably French flair. The owner checks in on you to make sure everything is good. It's not glitzy just great.
We get to Providence only once or twice a year, and our visit isn't complete without dinner at Pot au Feu, one of our favorite French restaurants anywhere. This place has a cozy atmosphere, the bill of fare is enticing, the service is friendly, and the overall vibe is romantic. It's walkable from the downtown hotels (ours, anyway), but we've had no trouble parking. The price? Not cheap, but worth it, especially for an occasion.
I've been dining here since 1982. The owner, Bob Burke, creates an atmosphere that is warm, friendly and inviting. The ambiance serves well for a casual date night, a very special occasion or a quiet dinner with friends. The staff is efficient and attentive without hovering and is intent on meeting all your dining needs with an engaging smile and an ease in making dish recommendations.
