We have come here before and enjoyed our experience. Today was quite a comedown. One appetizer was served a full 15 minutes before the other. Explanation - the raw bar was backed up, even though the restaurant was not that busy. Even so, just delay both dishes. Then a repeat failure with the main courses, one of the two being completely incorrect and inedible. We then waited 20 minutes with one persons meal on the table while the other's was completely remade. The server apologized but they made no accomodation. Excuse us, but when we dine out a restaurant, we kind of expect to eat together. The food was ok, but overpriced. The room is attractive but is looking a little tired and could use an update. All in all quite a disappointment and we won't be back soon.
This was our first time here after receiving a recommendation from a complete stranger at another restaurant. Dropping off the car at the valet was smooth and easy, simply registering our car to our mobile number for communication. We were seated promptly at a table for two that was awkwardly unstable but were able to adjust it so it didn't rock enough to spill our drinks. The Appy Hour buck-a-shuck was spot on. We crushed 18 meaty Wellfleet oysters for $18..... quite the bargain....then had several apps that were all delicious. For our main meal, we split the Filet Mignon and the Faroe Island Salmon. The filet was excellent - perfectly cooked and seasoned - but the salmon was lackluster at best, surprisingly. It seemed that they almost forgot to add any seasoning to the salmon which was unfortunate. All in all, the experience and food was on par with other Federal Hill restaurants and we will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful waitress named Kylie. She is going to study occupational therapy currently and was more than we could ask for in a waitress. She made the experience great! The total cost for the amount of food we received as well was very reasonably priced for a place in federal hill. I would recommend this place to anyone!
My initial reaction upon entering was that it was incredibly noisy and that dinner was going to be a bust' however, some people did leave but it was still pretty loud. The up side was that the service and food were excellent. We shared the ginger wasabi calamari which was amazingly good. High on the ginger, low on the wasabi and the calamari was cooked perfectly. My husband had the chronic roll which was amazing. 6 or 7 (or 8?) general pieces. I had the fried oyster plate which was generous on the oysters (cooked well) but way too many stringy potatoes. Our friend had the fish and chips which seemed to be a generous piece of fish but again, way too many not very good stringy potatoes. I know it's a "thing" but those potato strings get cold right away and get tasteless and dry. Our server was very sweet and just the right amount of attentive. There were many things on the menu that looked good. I would definitely return and try something new (without the potato strings).
This is one of our favorite dinner spots on Federal Hill in Providence. The service is great and the food is outstanding. The restaurant has a small intimate feel, making it easy to get settled and enjoy the experience.
You got the best fish and chips! Staff was super nice! I tried the oysters and they were amazing also!
Great little spot, I got both of the oyster shooters; I enjoyed the Bloody Mary one more than the Mexican.
They're raw oysters were so fresh and flavorful. They were very clean, not gritty or briny.
Updating my review with some photos. We went hard on the APPY HOUR deals. I forgot to snap pictures of the oysters...again! I was just enjoying them too much. I got the diver scallops done Oscar's style, which they altered to fit my gluten free diet. My husband got the Shrimp Cocktail and Lobster Bisque, the Bisque needed more sherry and they could be a little more generous with the Lobster. All he got was that tiny little bit in the photo. Shrimp Cocktail is not worth it.
Dietary restrictions: They easily catered to my Celiac Disease which was refreshing.

Absolutely delicious buck a shuck oysters! Bartenders were friendly and efficient. Crowd was great. We sat and watched the feisty lobsters. Can't wait to go back again.
Parking: Walking around Federal Hill afterwards is great.

I went here with a couple of my girlfriends last night for just some drinks at the bar. I was on the hunt for a great dirty martini, But I was new to drinking them and wasn't exactly sure how to order.
The Bartender there, not sure of his name but he was tall and had really cool long hair, was so kind and and educated me on how to order a dirty martini, and then proceeded to make the best dirty martini I've ever tasted!
He also offered some cookies that a guest gave him. It was such a sweet surprise!
This is certainly going to be a regular bar for my friends and I. The music was perfect, the atmosphere was exactly we were looking for, an most importantly the customer service and kindness of the staff made the night. I'm so appreciative for kind and patient bartenders, who really seem to love their job, and just want me to have the best martini 🙌🏼
Thank you again mystery bartender!! We will certainly be back

This used to be one of our favorite places and I know Covid did a number on the industry buy we were there recently and it has really gone down hill, at least the night that we were there. It was also a Friday night and they didn't even fill up which is a total 180 from the way it used to be

The Providence Oyster Bar was good. We ordered lobster rolls (the warm, Connecticut style), and they were good. Not Boston-level good though, but nice. The drinks were well made, and the server Anessa was wonderful.
