Very much enjoyed this pre-concert visit to Public Kitchen & Bar. We had the warm bread and honey butter to start, as usual. Entrees were pan-seared salmon with clams and fettuccine with Italian sausage. Both excellent. Baked apple tarte for dessert. Very good. But it was the service that really made the evening. Our server August was above and beyond.
We had tickets for a 7:30 performance at The Vets, which is located adjacent to the restaurant. I made a 6:00 dinner reservation, which seemed reasonable to me. What was not reasonable was the parking! After going around the block a couple times in terrible traffic, I finally ended up parking in a nearby lot for $27. I had dropped off my husband at the front of the restaurant, so he was able to check us in right on time. But it took my daughter and me 20 minutes to actually park...
Very nice to see new things on the menu, like the grilled tuna. The kitchen was a little slow as it took longer than expected to get our meals but our server did his best to expedite the situation.
