The environment is very nice, the food tastes very good, and the service is also very good!

This was, hands down, one of the most frustrating dining experiences I’ve ever had. We came here to celebrate a birthday with a reservation for three, expecting a smooth evening. Instead, it was an absolute mess.

When we arrived, everything seemed fine, the appetizers were good and we got our drinks in a timely manner, but about 10 minutes later, a large party came in and completely took over the space. The restaurant chose to seat us right in the middle of this chaos, and it ruined the entire evening. We were constantly bumped into, and the noise level was unbearable. We could hear every word of the other party’s conversations and had to practically shout just to hear each other. It felt less like a celebration and more like surviving a circus.

Service was nonexistent once the large group showed up. It took over 25 minutes to get our drinks, and they were wrong when they finally arrived. Dirty plates were never cleared from our table, sitting there for so long that they were still there when we paid and walked out. The whole time, it felt like there weren’t enough staff to handle the situation—too much going on, not enough people to manage it.

What made it worse was the fact that the other half of the restaurant was nearly empty. Why anyone thought it was a good idea to cram a reserved table for a birthday into the middle of an overcrowded, rowdy group is beyond me. It shouldn’t be the guests obligation to bring this blatantly obvious issue up. It was chaotic, poorly planned, and completely disrespectful to paying customers.

If you’re considering this place for any kind of dinner—especially a special occasion—don’t bother. It’s clear they can’t handle multiple parties at once, and the experience isn’t worth it. This should have been a fun celebration, but it ended up being an infuriating experience through and through.

Sloan and Pheronica handled our group of 38 people. They were beyond excellent, G should be proud to have them represent your business. The are friendly, efficien, professional….they did an absolutely excellent job on a very hard task. Thank you so much. Wish I could give more stars!

I can confidently say this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The service was abysmal from start to finish. We waited 25 minutes just to receive our drinks, and half our table didn’t even get the correct drinks they ordered. It took another 45 minutes to receive our appetizers, only to discover that the shrimp was bad—pale, slimy, and reeking of fish. The mussels were the smallest I’ve ever seen, and the oysters were inconsistent in size, some so tiny they were hardly worth eating.

When it came time to order our entrées, we had to flag someone down to even place the order. Once the food arrived, it didn’t come out all at once—half our table finished eating and paid their bill before the other half even received their meals. This level of disorganization is completely unacceptable, especially for a group dining together.

To top it all off, after we finished eating, we waited another 25–30 minutes just to get our check. We asked for it three separate times, even speaking to the manager, but nothing was done promptly. The server repeatedly assured us that the checks were split correctly (we were a party of 10 with three separate bills). However, when we finally received the check, we were charged for $130 worth of food and drinks that belonged to another party. The server admitted to forgetting to charge them, leaving us to foot the bill for items we didn’t order.

This experience was beyond frustrating. With so many incredible restaurants in the Providence area, I highly recommend steering clear of Rooftop at Providence G. Save yourself the headache and dine elsewhere—you’ll thank me later.
