We dined often at Sarto's when it first opened. After the chef left, the restaurant went downhill and we had not eaten there for several years. We were pleased to see that Sarto has now climbed back up the hill Food was excellent. Service was excellent. We will go back often.
Visited this restaurant for the first time with small party. It was as a quiet Sunday snowy evening therefore not full which was nice IMO. We all ordered pasta dishes which were fresh and had flavorful Arribiata and bison bolognese sauces. The ingredients in all the dishes including the focaccia and burrata salad were unique and high quality. Very friendly and professional service, and they stayed on top of everything. The specialty handcrafted cocktails and desserts were delicious as well. It's a bit on the pricier side if you're just thinking classic pasta dishes but if you want a rarer, special evening out, I'd highly recommend. We would definitely go again and try other dishes!
First off, the service was impeccable and everyone working there was lovely. We had the pomodoro, oxtail bolognese, focaccia, and pistachio gelato. Food was average. The bolognese was the best. The restaurant plays this trance music soundtrack like it's a rave in 2010. It reminds me of being in the menus of a car racing video game where you're making your car.
Sarto advertised an extravagant New Year's Eve experience featuring burlesque dancing, plate-smashing, and grape-eating “festivities,” charging over $350 for two people after mandatory prepayment, taxes, and a 20% gratuity. What we actually received bordered on parody. The promised “burlesque” amounted to a single, visibly uncomfortable dancer performing for roughly five minutes. There was no plate-smashing. No grape-eating. None of the advertised festivities materialized in any meaningful way. What did materialize was astonishingly poor service—over 30 minutes to receive a single martini on what was supposedly a curated, premium event. The disconnect between what was marketed and what was delivered was staggering. This felt less like a special New Year's Eve celebration and more like a bait-and-switch wrapped in a very expensive receipt. Without exaggeration, this was the worst New Year's Eve dining experience I've had in years, and it's hard to imagine recommending Sarto to anyone after this. If you're charging luxury-level prices, you should at least attempt to deliver luxury-level effort. This did neither.
We attended the NYE in red event last night 2025. The event sounded excellent but fell short of what was promised. Our waiter seemed to forget our orders on the prix fix menu, often coming back and asking did we need to order the next plate, after already giving him the order. The restaurant ran out of our preferred drinks and two of the three dessert options, after we had ordered them. The amuse oyster had barely any oyster meat and the foam was more of a butter then a foam. My main, the halibut came out nearly raw, the short rib was dry, and the polenta was more mashed potatoes then creamy. The only dessert option remaining was the cheesecake which didnt have a crust and was terribly overbaked. It was pretty awful. Grapes and smashing plates where part of the advertisement, but never happened. The DJ was fun and kept the mood upbeat besides these setbacks from the kitchen and waiters. Overall, I wouldn't recommend going back for the food but the atmosphere was light and fun, and the drinks we did have were enjoyable, although we were only able to have one before they ran out. I felt like the whole place was unprepared for the night with let down after let down. Never saw a manager, but they did comp one of my second drinks. Whoever thought prosecco and cheesecake would pair well togeather should probably try the menu with the food options because man did that tasted horrific and absolutely ruined it.
The food was so bland. Both meal and appetizer! Very over priced. Will not be going back. The bartender was great. The only good thing about the experience
The drinks were watered down and not very well blended. The food dish we had was very heavy with pepper. Would suggest letting customer season themselves $28 for four scallops extremely unreasonable for the small portion. Our waitress was great, but also seemed like she had more tables than she should have
Bar tender and wait staff were great. Food and drinks really good. Menu somewhat limited. Wine menu needs proper review: Listed Saldo red Zinfandel under white wines and d'Asti as a white wine instead of a “bubbly”!
My husband and I dined here for Thanksgiving/my birthday celebration and it was a wonderful experience. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything and made my birthday extra special with a treat. The food and drinks were amazing and tasty. We would definitely recommend, and would dine again if visiting Providence again!
We had a great date night at Sarto. The drinks and food were delicious! My husband got the ragu which I highly highly recommend it was amazing. I ordered the gnocchi arabiatta which was also good but def spicy. We wanted butter cake for dessert, but unfortunately they were out. Its ok- a good excuse to come back! We ended up with chocolate cake which was very good.

The food was absolutely incredible! We had the homemade focaccia, ragu with pappardelle and estate salad - all were delicious!
Initially seated at a table with cold air blowing down on us next to the window. I'd be surprised if we were the first to find issue with it. Very loud inside, and only one unisex bathroom. Food was fine yet expensive.
What a good place, great food, and nice people. We were in Providence for a cousins wedding.. and we ate here on our one free night. Had the fresh mozzarella appetizer, the focaccia was delicious, but the show stopper was the gazpacho it was served in (thought it was pesto) really fresh flavors. Had the porchetta, which was really good, but I wanna go back and try the scallops entree. It was my birthday, so they sent out a piece of flourless chocolate cake in a raspberry sauce, it was... divine. Highly recommend this place
The service was fantastic. The drinks were well blended. The appetizers were very good and butter cake was indulgent. The only exception was the lobster ravioli entree on special. Lobster ravioli I have always had has been typically in a lobster cream sauce. The lobster ravioli on special came in a tomatoe sauce with no chunks of lobster on top and you couldn't taste any in the filling, essentially a plain cheese ravioli topped with 2 scallops and tomatoe sauce. That was disappointing and wish the waiter provided a description as we would have chosen otherwise.
We went to the Jazz night and it was great. Music was really nice and food was outstanding. Pro tip: GET DESSERT! The only thing we didn't like was we didn't get our drinks until our entrees came out and my drink was a Diet Coke
