I lived in Providence from 2006 to 2018, and this was my favorite bakery. The lemon cakes still make me drool. I am glad to see it is still a local gem.
Was teaching a class down the street and afterwards walked down for a thick slice of sourdough bread with homemade jam and coffee...a definite treat
Never disappoints. Friendly staff, delicious food and clean. Highly recommend!!
Came here from RI Food Fights- the coffee is good! A lot of different varieties of treats too
Great coffee, sour dough toast is fantastic.
Food is overpriced imo, drinks are decent. Nothing to rave about
This is a great little bakery. Very much enjoyed the pecan sticky bun. Didn't try the drinks but will next time I'm in that area.
We were SO excited when we found out Seven Stars was coming to Edgewood!!! Especially since it is walkable for us, and many of our friends. There are plenty of college students around, who may enjoy a work space but be reluctant to spend $6 on a coffee, but overall this is a neighborhood FULL of families, particularly with young children. We have already been a few times since they opened, for quick to-go orders before school, but unfortunately, our trip this morning was anything but welcoming. We brought our 2.5-year-old son and two of his toddler friends for a morning treat, and made the mistake of choosing to sit inside the bakery. I’ll be so for real — they were loud (as toddlers are…you know, because they’re toddlers), but they stayed in one corner of the bakery the entire time, and definitely weren’t wild animals. I felt wicked bad so we were considerate, and apologized to everyone sitting around us, and everyone was so kind about it. A couple women even remarked that the kids were bringing them joy (including one who was working on her laptop, and would’ve probably been the easiest to annoy/distract). We were there for about 40 minutes, spent probably just shy of $100 between the three families, cleaned up after ourselves (basically every crumb on the tables and bench). We were getting ready to leave, but apparently there was too much sound for the comfort of one employee. This staff member walked by, as we were clearly in the middle of cleaning up, gave us a serious side-eye, and said very snidely, “It’s a little loud over here.” This guy (slender, tall, white) was just so snarky and judgmental, and made us feel terrible. Kids exist. They make noise. That’s part of life in a community like Edgewood. If Seven Stars can’t handle the sound of happy, energetic children, especially when they’re contained and supervised, at 7:30 on a freaking weekend, then you’ve picked the wrong neighborhood. And maybe consider hiring staff that are kinder, and don’t act like passive aggressive children themselves. If you’re a parent, especially one with a chatty toddler, do yourself a favor and steer clear. There are plenty of wonderful bakeries/cafes in Pawtuxet Village that know the difference between a vibrant atmosphere and a disturbance. Sadly, this place doesn’t. Shame on you for letting one rude employee ruin this location for multiple families. As for food/drink itself, I will say it’s good, but not special enough to be worth returning. The cinnamon bun was pretty dry, but the raspberry danish is delicious.
Pricey but that price pays for the quality and atmosphere. A great treat for yourself.

Staff was efficient. Ordered a cappuccino which was good but was cold before I even stepped outside. Also ordered a chocolate croissant which was essentially a small, hard chunk of chocolate stuck in some puff pastry. As evidenced by the photo--not super appetizing.

My hubby brought me home a birthday treat a chocolate croissant 🥐 and it had a smidgeon of chocolate drizzle inside, so disappointed ☹️ and it wasn’t cheap!
