One of best donuts I have had many years! We were there bright and early and passed through Providence on our way to MA. We were stunned to see it was a real bakery with higher standards (there are fewer around than one would think these days). The donuts were fresh out of the oven and we also had a cinnamon roll. Both were moist, delicious and fresh. Highly recommend especially early in morning!

The Eccles cake I got had molds inside! This is insane.
Strawberry matcha latte was like actually awful. It wasn’t sweet, didn’t have any strawberry in it besides flavored syrup. Didn’t even have red in it. Also didn’t match the photo that was hung up in the cafe at all that looks like an actual strawberry matcha latte. I took one sip and threw it away. Won’t be back.

I went recently for an iced coffee and a snack. I asked for iced coffee, pizza strip, and lemon bar. The pizza strip was good, not great. The iced coffee I had to throw out, it was very bad. And the lemon bar? Well instead of getting what I asked for, I was given an almond ball… I tried to eat the almond ball and did not enjoy it at all. Waste of money. The person working barely even spoke to me.

We stopped by the bakery right before closing—didn’t realize the time, but we were hoping to grab a quick treat. The girl working was outside putting chairs away and completely ignored us standing inside. After waiting a bit, my aunt went out to ask if we could still order, and the response we got was, “It depends what time it is,” with a tone that made it pretty clear we weren’t welcome. She eventually came back in, barely said a word, and made it obvious that we were a major inconvenience. I totally get that staff want to go home, but we were still customers, we were polite, and we even left a tip. A little bit of basic courtesy would’ve gone a long way.

The BEST Portuguese Bakery around! Family owned for decades. The paposecos are always fresh, da queijadas always have the perfect crunch, and of course ou queijo de São Jorge is always a hit! The owners and staff are absolutely AMAZING! Always a 10/10 ⭐️
I miss living next to this bakery. It's one of the best bakeries I've ever been to anywhere in the US. See you again someday
While in Fox Point Providence, we stopped into Silver Star Bakery. We got some Portuguese sweetbread, RI pizza straps, & a popseco com quiejo st jorge. The breads were super fluffy, & the pizza strips were tasty.
A taste of Portugal in Providence. Wonderful pasteis de nata, and all their other sweets are great as well. Definitely worth a stop for a sweet treat if you’re in Fox Point
Homey, friendly, warm and everything we tried was better than the first. A little Portuguese touch that makes me want to live there! Have smaller coffees that were just right post Dinner.

$8.75 for a huge loaf of yummy Portuguese Sweet Bread. Been eating Silver Star bread for the past 30 years.

I had the worst experience. I asked for an Americana coffee. The lady gave us the most watered down coffee. Didn't offer milk or sugar it anything. I tasted the coffee and it was like literally water. Very disappointed a cup of coffee was hard to make.

A no-nonsense Portuguese bakery with delicious sweets and very reasonable prices. One of the few remaining Portuguese-owned businesses in the (steadily gentrifying) Fox Point neighborhood!

Stumbled upon this place and I am such a fan!!! Everything looks so good it’s hard to choose just one thing to get. This bakery is definitely no frills and great quality and value. The latte they have is a galao, which is the Portuguese latte and is stronger so be careful. I’ve tried the elephant ears, cinnamon twist, blueberry turn over, egg tart, and all of them are phenomenal. Slowly I will try all of them.
